On this date in history

One of the daily features of Tanker's Mostly Cajun All American and Opinionated blog is to remind us about history, albeit with a sardonic tongue. September 15: On this date in history,

1914 – US Marines march out of Vera Cruz, Mexico. Once the foot of the American oppressor is removed, Mexico goes on to become a bastion of justice, fairness and equality. Thousands of Americans each day brave horrible conditions in the deserts to enter Mexico to take advantage of the paradise there…

1938 – British PM Chamberlain visits Hitler at Berchtesgarden. This day should be a holiday, the “Kiss a Dictator’s Ass for Peace Day”. By this wonderful act of diplomacy, the stage is set for the deaths of millions in WW II.

1941 – Nazis kill 800 Jewish women at Shkudvil, Lithuania. See my entry for 1938.

1950 – During Korean conflict, UN forces land at Inchon in South Korea. The North Korean Army collapses in the days following. Only the entry of the Communist Chinese stops Korea from reuniting. This allows North Korea to become the beacon of fairness and harmony that it is today.

On September 12:

1919 – Adolf Hitler joins the German Workers Party. Any time you see a political party named “workers” or “peoples” you can bet you a** that the workers and the people are going to be in for a sound screwing. The only thing Hitler ever worked was his mouth, and millions died.

1938 – Adolf Hitler demands autonomy for the Germans of the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia. Today’s equivalent? Muslim enclaves around the world demanding the right to impose sharia law in their communities. And Obama cluelessly plays the part of Britain’s feckless Chamberlain.

2005 – Israel completes its withdrawal of all troops and settlers from the Gaza Strip. This move opens a new era as the Palestinians react to the opportunity for self-government. A new age of peace, prosperity and harmony with their Israeli neighbors is the result. Wait! It WASN’T? You mean that when left to their own devices, the Palestinians remained a bunch of thugs who depended on the good graces of the rest of the world to stave off starvation while they kept up attempts to murder Jews and each other when Jews weren’t convenient?
