Filthy!!

Jeremy Meyer reports in the Denver Post that the Denver City council will be voting tonight on a 5 cent per bag charge at grocery stores. What his story does not include is this awful fact: the bags people reuse are often bacteria-laden. One week they put meat in the bag, the next week fresh produce. In the meantime, between shopping trips, the bags are in the car and make a fine pillow for the dog. Or they are left at home, where they make a fine pillow for the cat. One thing they are not is clean! Denver's Mayor is threatening to veto the measure. Good for him! I think I will give him a call.
