Lobbying politicians: Who spends the most?

Who do you think spends the most money lobbying in Washington D.C.? The oil and gas industries, right? Nope! Not even close. Between 1998 and 2012 the oil and gas industries spent a paltry $1.4 billion purchasing politicians' votes. During that same period the healthcare industries spent $5.3 billion, which is more than three times the number two spender, which was the insurance industries!
