Over the top enthusiasm

Colorado is way more interested in the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos than the presidential race. The NFL season kicks off tomorrow night in Denver, with the Broncos playing the Steelers. The Steelers have lots of motivation, after Tim Tebow (remember him?) led the Broncos to victory over the Steelers in a playoff game.

Manning's number 18 jersey will sell about one zillion times this fall. Put number 18 on a tee shirt, and its value goes from four dollars to twenty dollars immediately!

However, if you are a fan of Manning, and you are a student in the Greeley, Colorado public schools, you better not wear your shirt to school! Why? Because 18 is the name of the 18th street gang there! A good way to decide whether to move to a community, or not, is to see if they ban shirts because of gang activity! No shirt ban = relatively safe community!

People are very worried about the replacement officials. Will the players be safe? Will officials have the courage to make tough calls?

It is all a little over the top.
