A person who knows how to live

There is a new person where I work. I noticed some things about her. She is tall, has scars on the side of her forehead, not much hair, and has a really good attitude.

This week she came to work with a large headband wrapped around numerous surgical bandages on the side of her forehead. I asked her about the bandages. She said she had had surgery Friday
to have some cancerous tumors removed. She has had seventeen tumors removed and has been on chemo for the last fifteen months! In fact, she says it is the radiation that is the likely cause of the new tumors!

As I said before, she has a great attitude. People ask her why she works. The alternative, she says, would be much worse. Sitting at home focusing on herself, her anxieties, her pain, would be many times worse. At work she serves others, thereby finding herself. A couple thousand years ago in Galilee a Man told us that would be the Way to live.
