82 years old, not afraid to innovate! Eastwood: “President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people!”

Clint Eastwood gave his first interview since the Republican convention. He said that the idea for the empty chair came to him as he was backstage waiting to give his speech. A stagehand kept asking him if he wanted to sit down. He got to thinking about the chair, and at the last minute, decided to use it to ask Mr. Obama why he didn't keep his promises. He gave the interview to the Carmel Pine Cone, the newspaper in Carmel, California, where Eastwood served as mayor. (Have you ever heard of a better  name for a newspaper?)

He said the Romney campaign did try to vet his speech, but Eastwood replied, "You can't do that to me. I don't know what I'm going to say!"

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood said. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”

I'm so glad he stood up and did this!
