How Many Chances Should You Get To Reject And Abandon A Two-Year-Old Child?

Today Linebacker Dude was scheduled for another visit with his biological mom (fourth scheduled visit in six and one-half months; two of which she has shown up for). Guess what? She couldn't make it...again! I plan to raise a little you-know-what with the powers that be. How many rejections is enough?

That's so frustrating! It seems to me two straight missed visits in these circumstances should be "it." If she really wanted to be a good mother to him, she'd be fighting tooth and nail to get him back, and taking any opportunity she could to be with him.

I hope he doesn't have to go through this too much more in his life. Knowing how social services tend to function, though, I won't be surprised if it still happens in a few years.

I hope it all works out that he stays with you and your family, Bob; it sounds like the life he would have with his mother would not be a good one.
