Purple and yellow mesa tops

This is the time of year when the high mesa tops of New Mexico are blooming purple and yellow. We had a drought through the winter and spring, so they were slow to develop. But then we had some good rains in early summer, so the colors are beginning to appear even though the blooms are not as fully formed as they were last year.
