"These attacks are garbage!"

What is the most read newspaper in the world? Is it The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today? No, those three combined do not equal the six million readers per week that the National Enquirer claims to have.

Today The Enquirer is out with rumors that Ted Cruz may have had affairs with at least five women. One is Katrina Pierson, who works for Trump now as national spokeswoman, but formerly was for Cruz.

Another is Amanda Carpenter, former communications director for the Cruz campaign.

On Twitter Amanda writes,
Trump wants to bully and intimidate folks and that clearly is having a trickle down effect. It really really sucks.
Earlier yesterday she said,
Trump will hate tweet Heidi Cruz in the middle of the night but won't debate Cruz one on one. What a small man.
Another:
First Carly, then Megyn, now Heidi Cruz. Anyone else see a pattern? Three times isn't a mistake. It's a trend.
Another:
It's bad enough we have to listen to Trump insult Heidi but is it too much to ask ppl stop repeating the lie "Cruz's SuperPAC" started it?

Ted Cruz has responded:
In a statement Ted Cruz said: "I want to be crystal clear: these attacks are garbage.

"For Donald Trump to enlist his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bidding shows you that there is no low Donald won’t go.

"These smears are completely false, they’re offensive to Heidi and me, they’re offensive to our daughters, and they’re offensive to everyone Donald continues to personally attack.

"Donald Trump’s consistently disgraceful behavior is beneath the office we are seeking and we are not going to follow.”
