Cruz: highly intelligent, heartfelt conservative

Rush Limbaugh comes vigorously to the defense of Ted Cruz.

...everybody is overwhelmed by what Ted Cruz said about having increased police presence in Muslim neighborhoods. This is simply the acknowledgment of a program previously put in place by a Republican administration, the NYPD, and a mayor and continued under Obama and Mayor Bloomberg. And yet they act like Ted Cruz is proposing something that's never, ever been done, and it's discriminatory, and it's painting all Islamists, all Muslims with a broad brush!

...We are told that the moderate Muslims -- peaceful, peace-loving -- living in neighborhoods all over America, don't like the fact that their religion of peace has been hijacked by the jihadis, the ISIS, the Al-Qaedas, the militant jihadists. The San Bernardino Two, for example. So why wouldn't they welcome help from law enforcement in keeping their neighborhoods safe?



...So Cruz comes along and says, "You know, we need added police patrols in Muslim neighborhoods to root out the jihadists who are killing and attacking innocent people and giving the religion of peace a bad name." Why wouldn't they support this?

...Even Obama weighed in on it in the middle apologizing to the Argentineans for keeping secret files on 'em.

...They can't keep up. They despise him. He's a threat in that regard. You combine the kind of raw, native intelligence Cruz has with his heartfelt conservatism, and you have personified what the left fears the most. Therefore what they hate, what they despise. They know they'll never be able to corral Cruz. They'll never be able to control him. They will never be able to impugn him intellectually. So they go after him in other ways.
