Parents, pay attention to this story

From PHYS.ORG:

Los Angeles school officials have halted home use of iPads after nearly 300 students at Roosevelt High made quick work of hacking through security so they could surf the Web and access social media sites.

The Los Angeles Times reports just a week after getting the school-issued Apple tablets, the students discovered they could easily delete their personal profile information, giving them greater access to the iPads' capabilities. Roosevelt was among the first to distribute iPads, as part of a $1 billion roll-out that was to put a tablet in the hands of every student in the nation's second-largest school system within a year. Now that's on hold as officials look for ways to make sure students use the iPads for school work only.
