Fox News Protects Juan Williams' Freedom of Speech

Roger Ailes comes through like a champ: "Juan has been a staunch defender of liberal viewpoints since his tenure began at Fox News in 1997," Ailes said in a statement, adding a jab at NPR: “He’s an honest man whose freedom of speech is protected by Fox News on a daily basis.” Ailes is the Chief Executive of Fox News.

I think I may very well be the only one that finds all this a bit too convenient. Suddenly NPR is upset; suddenly Juan goes off the liberal reservation; suddenly Fox gives him a platform. Is anyone else out there just a tad bit skeptical?

No, Terri, you are not the only one who sees it that way. Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs said the same thing. I've just never been very good at that Machiavelli stuff.
