What did socialists use before candles?

From CBD at Ace of Spades today:
America was the end result of a centuries-long filtering process that left insufficiently brave, motivated, entrepreneurial, hard working people to the vicissitudes of European life. There is a reason we left and they stayed, and I would prefer that we keep it that way. Much of the world's bounty is a result of the greatness of American Exceptionalism, and to dismiss it as an artifact or to demean it as merely a birthright is to insult the millions of people who sacrificed and sweated and bled and died to create the United States.

And this joke:
What did socialists use before candles?

Electricity.

Conservative Review vs. Mark Steyn

I mentioned the other day my sadness that two of the best conservative sites are at war with each other. Cary Katz of Conservative Review sued Mark Steyn and lost. The judge ordered Katz to pay Steyn four million dollars, which he refuses to do. Instead, he has filed new lawsuits against Steyn. I have been reading Steyn's take on the events at steynonline.com, but I don't know the other side. Can anyone give me some links to read in order to understand CR's point of view?

SPLC: A hate group on the left

Dennis Prager writes at Town Hall,
"Antifa" is to violence what the Southern Poverty Law Center is to words. In short, it is a hate group on the left.

The SPLC smears individuals and groups it differs with by labeling them as some form of "hater": "racist," "white supremacist," "extremist" and the like. That it is cited and even relied upon by The New York Times, Facebook, Amazon, Google, CNN and others, and that Apple gave the organization a million dollars, is testimony to the moral state of mainstream media and corporate culture in America today.

VDH on border politics

Victor Davis Hanson writes at National Review,
Much has been written — some of it either inaccurate or designed to obfuscate the issue ahead of the midterms for political purposes — about the border fiasco and the unfortunate separation of children from parents.

...The media outrage usually does not include examination of why the Trump administration is enforcing existing laws that it inherited from the Bush and Obama administrations that at any time could have been changed by both Democratic and Republican majorities in Congress; of the use of often dubious asylum claims as a way of obtaining entry otherwise denied to those without legal authorization — a gambit that injures or at least hampers thousands with legitimate claims of political persecution; of the seeming unconcern for the safety of children by some would-be asylum seekers who illegally cross the border, rather than first applying legally at a U.S. consulate abroad; of the fact that many children are deliberately sent ahead, unescorted on such dangerous treks to help facilitate their own parents’ later entrance; of the cynicism of the cartels that urge and facilitate such mass rushes to the border to overwhelm general enforcement; and of the selective outrage of the media in 2018 in a fashion not known under similar policies and detentions of the past.

In 2014, during a similar rush, both Barack Obama (“Do not send your children to the borders. If they do make it, they’ll get sent back.”) and Hillary Clinton (“We have to send a clear message, just because your child gets across the border, that doesn’t mean the child gets to stay. So, we don’t want to send a message that is contrary to our laws or will encourage more children to make that dangerous journey.”) warned — again to current media silence — would-be asylum seekers not to use children as levers to enter the U.S.
(VDH never forgets!)

A few other random thoughts. Mexico is the recipient of about $30 billion in annual remittances (aside from perhaps more than $20 billion annually sent to Central America) from mostly illegal aliens within the U.S. It is the beneficiary of an annual $71 billion trade surplus with the U.S. And it is mostly culpable for once again using illegal immigration and the lives of its own citizens — and allowing Central Americans unfettered transit through its country — as cynical tools of domestic and foreign policy.

...Finally, it is unfortunate that former CIA and NSA director Michael Hayden and former first lady Laura Bush have both demagogued the issue by respective grotesque and ignorant comparisons of current border shelters to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp and the forced Japanese internment during World War II. At its horrendous peak in August 1944, the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex on some days exterminated 10,000 human beings and may have cumulatively murdered well over 1 million Jews, as well as Eastern Europeans and Russians.

A foregone conclusion that Clinton would not be charged

Andrew McCarthy writes at National Review,
...IG Horowitz took the position that it was not his job to question the correctness of the investigators’ legal conclusions and exercise of prosecutorial discretion. He blithely accepted the investigators’ crimped construction of knowledge-and-intent proof, making it a foregone conclusion that he would find their decision-making defensible — much as their adoption of this crimped standard, uncalled for by the applicable law, made it a foregone conclusion that Clinton would not be charged.

...Clinton’s willful concoction of a home-brew communications network — not a harried official’s occasional, exigent use of private email for official business, but her rogue institution of a private, non-government infrastructure for the systematic conduct of State Department business — made the non-secure transmission and storage of classified information inevitable.

...Fox News’s Catherine Herridge reports that two congressional committees have found that “foreign actors obtained access” to Clinton’s emails.

There is nothing in the statute that inflates “gross negligence” into a requirement that infractions be “so gross as to almost suggest deliberate intention,” be “criminally reckless,” or fall “just a little short of willful.” But even if there were, what could be more gross, reckless, and willful than imposing a non-secure private email system on the communications of the government’s highest-ranking national-security officials?

Yet that is the aspect of Mrs. Clinton’s conduct that the Obama Justice Department and FBI decided not to factor into their consideration of intent evidence. And apparently, the IG had no problem with that.

"Who opposes them? US!"

Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse writes,
The insurgency, led by Donald Trump, is an existential threat to the professional political class and every entity who lives in/around the professional political class. The entire political industry is threatened by the insurgency. The entire political industry is threatened by Donald Trump.

Decision time.

You know why the entire apparatus is united against President Trump. You know why the entire Wall Street apparatus is united against President Trump. You know why every institutional department, every lobbyist, every K-Street dweller, every career legislative member, staffer, and the various downstream economic benefactors, including the corporate media, all of it – all the above, are united against Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is an existential threat to the very existence of the UniParty. Donald Trump is an existential threat to every entity who benefits from the UniParty.

Multi-billion dollar contracts at stake. Trillion dollar multi-national trade deals at stake. The fundamental construct of decades of their united efforts to tear away at the very fabric of the U.S.A is at stake. They too have nothing to lose, and they’re damn sure acting like it.

Who opposes them?

…..US !

"Where there are laws, there are loopholes!" Hollywood depravity of the week (so far)

President Trump signs executive order keeping families together who have come into the country illegally.

Greg points out, "Where there are laws, there are loopholes!" This one resulted in children being separated from their parents, in some cases. President Trump acted with courage and heart to close the loophole!

Kimberlee points out that in most of these cases, the children were not with their parents, but were being brought here for trafficking by adults who were not their parents!

Greg explained that on Tuesday the violent group Antifa tweeted out the identities and locations of 1500 ICE agents and their families. This is called doxing when you spread someone's personal information so others can harass them. Jane Fonda's brother Peter tweeted that he wants to "rip Barron Trump from his mother's arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles" and surround the schools where ICE and Border Patrol agents' children attend in order to scare the sh*t out of them and worry the fu*k out of the agents. Melania called Secret Service and asked for an investigation and Fonda apologized. Not good enough!

Juan Williams engaged in mind-reading the other panelists, and Greg called him on it and told him to go get his crystal ball and try again!

Kimberley explained what Mark Meadows was referring to when he talked about 302s being altered. 302s are the notes agents make when interviewing suspects or witnesses, so if they have been altered they have compromised the investigations.

Peter Strzok may testify next week. Juan says he is glad to testify! Have you noticed, by the way, that whenever another panelist makes a strong point, Juan starts shouting over them?

Ending on a good note: Hollywood A-list actor Chris Pratt gave a very inspirational speech last night at the MTV Awards.

Greg says the only change in this story is Trey Gowdy's facial hair!

Pink, too!

This cactus decided to add some pink to the green trees and blue sky.

DOJ employee harasses and stalks Kirstjen Nielson

Joe Simonson reports at The Daily Caller that a Department of Justice employee named Allison Hrabar was one of the people harassing and stalking Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant in D.D. last night. Go here to see her smiling face.

"The blue sky takes place outside you, but the experience of joy you get from the blue sky takes place inside you."

As Andrew Klavan says,
The blue sky takes place outside you, but the experience of joy you get from the blue sky takes place inside you. You start to think about the existence of God and God's creation. Paying attention and love are very closely related. When you live life fully awake and alert, you are full of joy and vitality.

How is life worth living? "How could this happen, and how could I prevent it from happening again?

Andrew jokes in his opening monologue on separation of children from their parents, "Planned Parenthood weighed in with a tweet saying that children should not be separated from their parents at the border but should instead be pumped full of poison and then have their arms and legs ripped off before their body parts are sold for cash."

Barack Obama is being exposed for his failure to push for legislation to prevent immigrant children from being separated from their parents. Which crying children should we be helping? American children in Chicago where gun violence is rampant, or St. Louis, where parents are crack-addicted, or non-American children who are being separated from their parents (or alleged parents) at the border?

Andrew answers questions from listeners. One person told Andrew his girlfriend had gotten pregnant by him twice and gotten abortions. The first time she did not tell him about the abortion but the second pregnancy was also ended in abortion and that time she told him. Andrew thought of two wrong ways the writer could handle this problem. The first would be that he could wallow in guilt until he is paralyzed and develops a self-righteous feeling of goodness just from feeling bad! The other is having no guilt and doing nothing. He could also take a close look at his life and ask, "How could this happen, and how could I prevent it from happening again?

Another writer asks, "Why is life worth living?" Andrew suggested that he change that to "How is life worth living?" If you are paying attention to the person you are in love with, you pay attention to life! Paying attention is a really difficult thing. Everything that is worthwhile about life takes place inside you. Everything that is life takes place outside you. The blue sky takes place outside you, but the experience of joy you get from the blue sky takes place inside you. You start to think about the existence of God and God's creation. Paying attention and love are very closely related. When you live life fully awake and alert, you are full of joy and vitality. Andrew believes that is what the gospels are about. What keeps you from paying attention? Fear, anxiety, worry. Jesus said let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be afraid.

Who profits from children being smuggled into America?

At The Conservative Treehouse, Sundance writes,
Sad thing is, it’s you and me that are paying the South American human smugglers through U.S. taxpayer funds. Laundered through the immigration business bagmen at U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and/or, U.S. Catholic Charities, or Southwest Key Programs Inc; or Baptist Child and Family Services Emergency Management Division (BCFS-EMD), just to name a few.

These immigration groups, get *MASSIVE* HHS grants and then pay-off the DC politicians and human smugglers, including MS13. Billions of dollars are spent, and the business has exploded in the past six years.

It’s a vicious cycle. Trafficked children are more valuable than adults because the organizations involved get more funding for a child than an adult. Each illegal alien child is worth about $56,000 in grant money. The system is full of fraud.

From our prior research approximately 65% of the money they get is spent on executive pay and benefits, opaque administrative payrolls, bribes, kick-backs to DC politicians and payoffs to the South American smugglers who bring them more immigrants.

Atrocious abuse of a Trump Cabinet Secretary by "Democratic Socialists"

John Binder reports at Breitbart that Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was verbally abused and finally driven out of a restaurant in Washington DC last night by a vulgar, hateful, vicious bunch of yelling members of the group “Democratic Socialists of America.” Go here to watch videos of the hatemongers.

The courage of President Trump

San Francisco: a growing homeless population and longstanding HIV and Hepatitis C epidemics.

Zero Hedge has an article here about San Francisco's homeless problem.
The city, which hands out up to 4.8 million syringes each year, has struggled to figure out how to keep streets clean and safe for residents, while accommodating a growing homeless population and longstanding HIV and Hepatitis C epidemics. There are roughly 16,000 residents in San Francisco with HIV, and 13,000 with Hep C.

City Health Director Barbara Garcia estimated in 2016 that there were 22,000 intravenous drug users in San Francisco - around one for every 38.9 residents, while the city hands out roughly 400,000 needles per month.

Of the 400,000 needles distributed monthly, San Francisco receives around 246,000 back - meaning that there are roughly 150,000 discarded needles floating around each month - or nearly 2 million per year, according to Curbed. ...Most of the needles littering streets in downtown neighborhoods came by way of the city itself, as part of the Department of Public Health’s 25-year-old needle exchange program.

Calling out some dangerous people

Tuesday, June 19, 2018

No matter how dry the soil may be on the high desert mesa top, these purple flowers emerge!

"They were stunned that their polls were wrong in 2016, that their expertise was unwanted in 2017, and their venom was ignored in 2018—and the world all the while could go on better than before."

Victor Davis Hanson writes at American Greatness about globalism. I'll excerpt it, but how does one ever decide which VDH paragraphs should be left out? He is simply the best!
...a number of contradictions in the global order became self-evident. Consumer quasi-capitalism not only did not always lead to democracy and consensual government. Just as often, it enhanced and enriched authoritarianism.

Democracy and referenda became suspect, the moody fickleness of those who did not know what was good for them.

Nations subsidized by the United States often resented their patron. Often out of envy elites embraced anti-Americanism as a secular religion. Sometimes in the case of Europe, America was faulted either for having in the past defeated a European nation or from saving it from defeat.

The global cop, patron, market—call it what you will—was resented as not good because it was not perfect. The world’s loud second greatest wish was to topple U.S. hegemony; its first quiet desire was to ensure that America—and not a Russia, China, or the Middle East—remained the global policeman.

America itself split in two. In reductionist terms, those who did well by running the global show—politicians, bureaucrats of the expanding federal administrative octopus, coastal journalists, the professionals of the high tech, finance, insurance and investment industries, entertainers, universities—all assumed that their first-world skills could not be replicated by aspiring populations in the Third World.

In contrast, those who did things that could be done more cheaply abroad—due to inexpensive labor and an absence of most government safety, environmental, and financial regulation—were replicated and soon made redundant at home: factory workers, manufacturers, miners, small retailers and farmers and anyone else whose job was predicated on muscular labor.

Globalization became a holistic dogma, a religion based on the shared assumptions: man-made global warming required radical changes in the world economy. Racism, sexism and other pathologies were largely the exclusive wages of the West that required material and psychological reparations. Immigration from non-West to West was a global birthright. State socialism was preferable to free-market capitalism. Those whose jobs were outsourced and shipped abroad were themselves deemed culpable, given their naiveté in assuming that building a television set in Ohio or farming 100 acres in Tulare was as valuable as designing an app in Menlo Park or managing a hedge fund in Manhattan.

The logic was that anything foreigners could not do as well as Americans was sacred and proof of U.S. intelligence and savvy. Anything that foreigners could do as well as Americans was confirmation that some Americans were third-world relics in a brave new postmodern America.

Crazy things followed from the gospel of Americanized globalism. Language, as it always does in times of upheaval, changed to fit new political orthodoxies. “Free” trade now meant that Beijing could expropriate technology from American businesses in China. Under free trade, dumping was tolerable for China, but a mortal sin for America. Vast trade deficits were redefined as meaningless and the talking points of empty-headed populists. Only America believed in free and fair trade; most everyone else in mercantilism.

...The winners of globalization—the universities, financial powerhouses, the federal government, big tech, and the marquee media and entertainment outlets—were mostly located on the two coasts. Their dogmas became institutionalized as the gospel of higher education, the evening news, the Internet and social media.

Unfortunately, globalization otherwise did not deliver as promised. Half of the United States and Europe did not enjoy the advantages of the universal project. They found the disappearance of a good job not worth the upside of using Facebook or downloading videos. It was hard to see how someone in rural Pennsylvania or in West Virginia benefitted by knowing the most of the world’s Internet technologies were now American. It was nice having Amazon deliver goods to the front door, but one still had to have the money to pay for them. The logic of bombing Libya or fighting a 17-year-old civil war in Afghanistan was a hard sell.

The credentialed and expert had allowed North Korea to point ballistic missiles at the United States. The best and brightest forged a deal with Iran that would ensure it too would become nuclear—and then jawboned banks to violate U.S. law to allow Iran to convert its once embargoed currency into Western money.

Jeans, t-shirts, and cool did not mean that the lifestyles and mindsets of a Mark Zuckerberg or Jeff Bezos were any different from their kindred spirits of the past—J. P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, or Jay Gould. What we call globalization our ancestors called monopolies, trusts, and disdain for national sovereignty.

...The entire alphabet soup of Western-inspired globalization—the EU, the United Nations, the World Bank, the WTO—did not quite end up as anticipated. Their shared creed is not the fulfillment of their originally envisioned missions, but to protect an international cadre who run them, and to ensure that any who question their missions are branded as heretics.

But the nexus of expertise—marquee journalists and pundits, academics, five-term politicians—really had few answers for current chaos. They were stunned that their polls were wrong in 2016, that their expertise was unwanted in 2017, and their venom was ignored in 2018—and the world all the while could go on better than before.

The Left is trying to destroy anyone who stands in their way!

A political tactic? Yes, but that's not all it is. The Left is trying to destroy anyone who stands in their way. This is total war to them. The pitiful Leftist media is using the words Concentration camps, Nazi, Holocaust, and Hitler to scare people away from Donald Trump and vote Democrat in the midterm elections this fall. Meanwhile, they say not one word about the 13 million American children living in poverty, many of whom live in conditions worse than immigrant children. Liberals used to care about these kids, or they said they did, anyway. The Left's immigration policies make the lives of these American children worse. Student bodies that don't speak English. Jobs pay less because the Left has imported a new serf class working for minimum wage.

Peter Kersanow is a member of the US Civil Rights Commission who says black votes are being taken for granted. They don't win some elections even when they get 90% of the black vote! So now they are looking for a new bloc vote in illegal aliens.

Peter Strzok was escorted out of FBI headquarters last week. We are just now finding out about it.

"Bias is all the way through this report!"

Louie Gohmert questions Horowitz about bias! "Bias is all the way through this report!" Gohmert wants to know who worked on "this matter."

Jordan and the regular Americans

Jim Jordan talks about the arrogance, condescension and elitist attitude of the FBI investigators. Mr. Jordan, who never seems to wear a suit coat, likes to represent the "regular guy." "We've got to get some answers from Mr. Rosenstein and Mr. Wray." "Why did we not get the "We'll stop" Trump text message until your report came out? Was someone trying to hide it?"

Horowitz: we uncovered it in May (last month).

How many more reports are coming from Horowitz? Comey, Abuse of the FISA Court process, the leak issue. "Will you be looking at Mr. Rosenstein's threats against Congressional staffers?"

A "gentlelady" from Texas interrupts and says she has a parliamentary question, then alleges that Republicans plan to fire Rod Rosenstein Friday! Chairman Gowdy rules that there wasn't anything parliamentary about her statement and ruled that Jordan can have the minutes she used in interrupting him!

Oversight

Hiding names, editing and changing 302s. Mark Meadows questions IG Horowitz.

A show?

Chairman Gowdy invites IG Horowitz to give his opening statement today.

Gowdy then goes right to the text exchange from August 8, 2016 between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. "Outcome determinative bias." Gowdy puts on a good show.

"We shouldn't let 99% of journalists give the rest a bad name!"

The law in this country is a tool for equality and freedom. By enforcing the law we have equality. By not enforcing the law we lose freedom.

Ted Cruz is offering legislation mandating that kids must stay with parents, double the number of federal immigration judges, authorize new temporary shelters to keep families together, mandate that families must be kept together absent aggravated criminal conduct, speed up hearings on asylum cases. Andrew will be surprised if leftists will support the Cruz legislation because they are not trying to solve the problem. They just want a Katrina moment with which to put Trump in a bad light. Andrew praises Trump for fighting back, something Bush did not do!

Andrew says it won't be fixed because the Democrats and media don't want it fixed. What they want is what is happening right now: controversy and blame.

John Miller is Andrew's guest. He heads the Journalism Dept. at Hillsdale College. He believes you learn journalism by doing journalism. He encourages the students to work at the student newspaper and the campus radio station. "We shouldn't let 99% of journalists give the rest a bad name!"

US to pull out of UN Human Rights Council this afternoon

At Hot Air, Ed Morrissey tells us that this afternoon Mike Pompeo and Nikki Haley are holding a news conference to announce the withdrawal of the US from the UN Human rights council. Ed writes in part,
Having Cuba and Venezuela as human-rights judges is the equivalent of putting Harvey Weinstein on a commission to promote female empowerment in the workplace. It’s grotesque, and it’s long past time that the US ceased cooperating with it.

Comey and Lynch refuse to testify, McCabe takes the Fifth, Feinstein blocks

Stephen Dinan reports in the Washington Times,
Fired FBI Director James B. Comey refused to appear before Congress on Monday to talk about his handling of the Clinton email investigation, and his fired deputy, Andrew McCabe, asserted his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination, Sen. Charles E. Grassley said.

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch also declined to show up for a major hearing where the Senate Judiciary Committee was looking into the inspector general’s report detailing major bungles in Mr. Comey’s handling of the Clinton investigation.

Mr. Comey’s lawyer said he was out of the country — though Mr. Grassley, committee chairman, said he saw Mr. Comey was in Iowa over the weekend, visiting a key state in presidential campaigning.

“He has time for book tours and television interview, but apparently no time to assist this committee,” Mr. Grassley, an Iowa Republican, said.

Self-righteous posturing, Ginning up emotion to prevent rational thought

Self-righteous posturing! The Democrats tried their hands at performance art today. Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi bypassed public policy questions and went straight to theology! Tucker reminds us that Hillary and Nancy support third term post-viability abortion, and they are now lecturing us about God and sin and the holiness of children!

Tucker observes that these elites are not worried about the collapse of the American family, which is real.

Thomas Homan is Acting Ice Director. He recommends these Democrats need to protect American citizens as much as they fight for illegal aliens. He is incensed at the purposeful misleading of the American people by politicians (how about the media?). Homan says over 80% of people claiming to be escaping persecution are frivolous! 40,000 people did not show up at their immigration hearings last year!

Mark Steyn is a legal immigrant to the U.S. He knows firsthand how heartless and ruthless the legal immigration bureaucracy can be to children, and these Democrats and Laura Bush never have a word to say about that!

Derek Hunter has written a book entitled Outrage, Inc. How the liberal mob ruined science, journalism and Hollywood.

Hunter points out that we have grandstanding reporters showing pictures from 2014 like they happened yesterday. Ginning up emotion to prevent rational thought is diabolical, but brilliant marketing! They need to keep people angry and afraid so they gin up controversy and the media are willing participants and parrot the talking points, then the Hollywood people come in at the end to try to drive it home to the end zone. They don't want to address the problem. They want to gin up emotion around the problem.

Separating children from parents who commit crimes

Brett Baier asks his viewers to weigh in on the issue of separating children from adults who commit crimes: which side will blink first, Democrats or Republicans? Just asking: If you commit a crime today will law enforcement throw you in jail and separate you from your children? In a heartbeat!

Separating children from their parents,Congress needs to fix immigration loopholes

At the beginning of the program, The Five switched to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senator Ted Cruz points out it is not possible for Comey and McCabe to both be telling the truth, since on May 3, 2017 then Director Comey testified before Congress that he had never been an anonymous news source in either the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation. He further testified that he had never authorized any other FBI official to be an anonymous source of news reports about either investigation. Former Dep. Dir. McCabe has stated that Director Comey was aware of his leaking to the press. Moreover, his lawyer says he has email records showing Comey was aware all during the time it was happening.
"So, Director Wray, tell us, which one is telling the truth?"

Wray: "Unfortunately, I can't answer that question because of an ongoing matter."

Kirstjen Nielson, Secretary of Homeland Security, spoke to the press about immigration legislation. More than 50 thousand people are illegally entering the U.S. southern border each month! 600,000 asylum cases are currently backlogged! Since 2013 the US has admitted more than half a million illegal alien minors and family units from Central America, most of whom are at large in America. They stay here because of loopholes the Trump administration is asking Congress to fix! "Surely it is the beginning of the unraveling of democracy when the body who makes the laws, instead of changing them, tells the enforcement body not to enforce the law!

The snarky media then gets its turn to ask how this is not child abuse to separate children from their parents, and another quoted Laura Bush saying it is like Japanese internment during World War II. Kirstjen: 10,000 of the 12,000 children currently separated from their parents were sent here alone by their parents! Kirstjen: Congress could fix this tomorrow! Kirstjen does not bend to these suddenly all-too-concerned child advocates in the media!

Sarah Huckabee wearily comes to the microphone to relieve Kirstjen. It is the first time I have watched Sarah in action for more than just a few moments. She is fabulous. Someone asked her to comment on Laura Bush's remarks. Sarah said the law was passed in 2008 when Laura Bush's husband was president, and President Trump is the first president to try to fix it! another reporter asks if there is any daylight between Donald and Melania Trump on this law. Sarah: the daylight exists between the Democrats in Congress and their ability to change this law!

Greg Gutfeld has the solution. Buses. Fill them with families and head south. Bring the next bus and do the same.

Covering up

A good script is the key!" How Bill Cosby became "America's dad."

Once Obama realized how supine the media was in covering his administration, he got bolder and bolder. They abandoned their journalistic responsibilities for eight years.

Now, with Trump, our economy is taking off like a rocket, while socialist Europe is really suffering. But the media is all of a sudden focused on immigrant children being separated from their parents. The media is covering up the corruption of the Obama DOJ and FBI, covering up the good economy, covering up the headway Trump is making on the Korean peninsula, covering up the facts that the IRS, State Department, and DOJ were turned into an urban Democrat machine by the Chicago machine politician, Obama. The media called Trump the "skunk at the garden party" when he announced his candidacy three years ago this week. The garden party of the socialist elites in the Obama administration and the media, that was moving so smoothly toward the death of the west.

The Trump administration has not changed any rule or practice regarding separating children from their parents.

One person was killed and 22 injured by a black gunman in New Jersey last night. This story is being censored because Nancy Pelosi says gangsters are humans with the spark of divinity. All news stories are one story: let's transform America into the rest of the world!

A gold mine for China, Russia, and others

Tom Rogan writes at the Washington Examiner,
While the FBI was investigating Hillary Clinton's secret server where she kept official emails out of the view of the authorities until her lawyers could scrub them, for some reason, agents never searched the Blackberries or other email devices belonging to her inner circle at the State Department.

...I suspect that many police officers around the world would be shocked by this failure. As will the intelligence services of China, Russia, France, and Israel who, based on their traditional espionage tradecraft and targeting, likely focused on Clinton's inner circle as a possible gold mine.

"This was their finest hour."

Mark Steyn reminds us that today is the 78th anniversary of Winston Churchill's
speech to the House of Commons on June 18th, 1940, a few weeks into his premiership and at a very dark hour,
And he concluded with a famous rhetorical flourish:

What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us, therefore, brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'

Hiding the names of key participants

Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse writes about the IG report,
...Within the IG report almost all of the key participants’ names are hidden. Instead the reports’ authors chose to use descriptions like: “FBI Agent #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, etc.” Or “Analyst 1, 2, 3”; or “FBI Lawyer-1, FBI Lawyer-2”; or the ridiculously byzantine insider acronyms for all of the positions of the officials. A conveniently useful bureaucratic mess of acronyms to hide behind. Flippin’ ridiculous is what it is. I digress…

...Case in point: FBI Lawyer #1. We know who she is because we’ve done a great deal of research on the issues, and many of these titles/acronyms are listed by name in the Page/Strzok messages. FBI Lawyer #1 is Tashina “Tash” Gauhar, literally from the school and law firm of former Obama “wingman” Attorney General Eric Holder.

...Yes, the DOJ/FBI lawyer at the heart of the Clinton-email investigation; the DOJ/FBI lawyer hired by Eric Holder at his firm and later at the DOJ; the DOJ/FBI lawyer who was transferred to the Clinton probe; the DOJ/FBI lawyer at the epicenter of the Weiner laptop issues, the only one from MYE who spoke to New York; the DOJ/FBI lawyer who constructs the FISA applications on behalf of Main Justice;…. just happens to be the same DOJ/FBI lawyer recommending to AG Jeff Sessions that he recuse himself…

Telling the truth about FBI and DOJ corruption

Is there anyone who tells it like it is better than Judge Jeanine Pirro? She seems to top herself every week! Don't miss her opening monologue if you have been waiting to hear someone tell the truth about corruption in the DOJ and FBI!

Kelly Anne Conway makes the point that we would not know about this corruption if Hillary had been elected.

Congressman Ron DeSantis says the Justice Department has let us down on this one; we should have had a second special counsel months ago!

"Those responsible and complicit must be indicted, convicted, and punished!"

Excerpts of Conrad Black writing at American Greatness:
Former FBI Director James Comey emerges as a psychopath incapable of telling fact from fiction, himself guilty of possible criminal misuse of emails, as well as likely obstruction of justice, untruthful answers to Congress under oath, theft of government property, illegal leaks, and in Horowitz’s words, “usurping” the authority of the attorney general and deputy attorney general, “serious improprieties and errors of judgment,” and severe breach of Bureau practices and policies for “unpersuasive” reasons. He is completely disgraced and is on the low road to indictment.

...We also learn for the first time that that President Obama was not, as he has claimed, unaware of Secretary Clinton’s illegal email activity, which, Horowitz also confirms, gave “foreign actors” access to unknowable quantities of classified material—a major security breach. There is little doubt that President Obama and his attorney general, Loretta Lynch, and her deputy Sally Yates, were complicit in the harassment of the Trump campaign, including the implantation of informers within the campaign, the surveillance of the campaign through telephone intercepts and other means under a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant requested from a court under a false pretext of treating the Steele dossier, a farrago of lies and defamations commissioned by the Clinton campaign, as an objective product of respectable impartial, professional intelligence gathering with no hint of its origins or methods or purpose.

Comey inherited the FBI from Robert Mueller, who must have inculcated the initial ethos of omnipotence and infallibility. Horowitz reveals many instances of the tangible corruption of FBI agents by interested parties in investigations, and of contact between agents and the media so frequent that it is impossible to identify the principal suspects in the Niagara of illegal leaks the FBI’s agents have committed. Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who has already been referred for possible criminal indictment, got around to recusing himself on the Clinton “matter” a week before the 2016 election, after a Clinton ally had given McCabe’s wife’s Virginia state senate campaign almost $800,000 while McCabe was leading the soft-pointed investigation of Mrs. Clinton.

Though Horowitz wasn’t looking at the intelligence agencies, the coordinated law-breaking and perjury of senior officials, almost certainly including the former directors of the FBI, CIA (John Brennan), and the Office of National Intelligence (James Clapper), has to be addressed, starting with their frequent lies to Congress, and apparent participation in a plan with Comey to mislead the president-elect about the Steele dossier. All of this is so far from passing a smell test, no person of normal olfactory sensibilities could inhale through their nostrils while being exposed to it.

...We are between the lightning and the thunder and the country cannot tolerate this level of sanctimonious, institutionalized corruption any longer.

...Despite Horowitz’s partial disclaimer, he has almost certainly proved that political bias perverted the administration of justice. Those responsible and complicit must be indicted, convicted, and punished, with the same severity they have shown to their often guiltless victims.

Do you want to be part of the cleanup or the cover-up?

Chairman Nunes: The FBI under Comey was leaking like a sieve to reporters, while at the same time not giving Congress the information Congress requested. Congress has been given the DOJ until today to give up information they are withholding. You can hear the anger in Chairman Nunes's voice as he explains what is happening.

Strzok is put in charge of the investigation into Trump team alleged collusion with Russia. His girlfriend Lisa Page, herself a top FBI attorney, texts him asking for assurance that Trump will not become president. Strzok answers, "No, no, no, he will not. We will stop him!" These texts were sent nine days after Strzok was put in charge of the investigation, showing clear intent on Strzok's part to bias the investigation against Trump. Maria points out we are just learning about the "We will stop it" text. She asks, "Why?" The top people in DOJ and FBI learned about it one month ago, but did not bring it to the attention of Congress!

Nunes: "Rosenstein and Wray have to decide whether they want to be part of the cleanup crew or part of the cover-up crew!"

Maria asks how could FBI Director Wray make the claim that bias did not impact the decision making?

Nunes is ready to go for the impeachment of top officials if they do not cooperate by Wednesday of this week.

Michael McCaul is the House Homeland Security Chairman. President Trump is meeting with Congress critters Tuesday on two immigration bills. One is by House leadership (Ryan) and the other is by McCaul and Goodlatte. McCaul's bill ends chain migration, provides border security (funding for the wall), ending the random visa lottery system, and provides a DACA solution.

House Judiciary Committee member John Ratcliffe says there is evidence of anti-Trump bias on every single page of the 538 page IG report!

Monday and Tuesday Horowitz goes to Congress

At The Conservative Treehouse, Sundance reports,
On Monday June 18th both Horowitz and FBI Director Chris Wray will be appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee (Chairman Grassley). Then on Tuesday Horowitz will appear before the House Joint Judiciary/Oversight Committee.

We need Jim Jordan to ask some basic questions [SEE HERE] and gain clarity from Horowitz. Tuesday is likely the best hope for answers because we have Jim Jordan, John Ratcliffe, Ron DeSantis, Louie Gohmert, Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz, Steve King, possibly Mark Meadows and Chairman Goodlatte asking the questions:

Who is telling the truth?

At The Conservative Treehouse, Sundance does another monumental job of reviewing documents. Here are just a few excerpts from his findings.
This is the crew that created the “wizardry” that FBI Director James Comey says allowed him to tell Congress with confidence that 1,355,980 electronic files (pg 389), containing 350,000 emails and 344,000 Blackberry communications were reviewed between October 30th and the morning of November 6th, 2016.

Three people.

Pete, Tash and one lead analyst. Uh huh.

Sure.

...There is an actual hero in all of this though. It’s that unnamed FBI Case Agent in New York who wouldn’t drop the laptop issue and forced the FBI in DC to take action on the laptop.

...Summary:
There were only three people in the Mid-Year-Event team granted authority to physically do the Clinton email review.

They were: FBI Agent Peter Strzok, FBI Attorney-1 Tashina “Tash” Gauhar, and an unnamed lead analyst.

FBI Agent Peter Strzok says they were able to cull the number of emails through the use of “some amazing things to rapidly de-duplicate” the emails.

The New York FBI case agent assigned to the Weiner investigation, a certified Digital Extraction Technician, as well as the FBI forensics team in Quantico say it was impossible to use the conflicted metadata to “de-duplicate” the emails.

Someone is lying.

FBI Director James Comey said his investigative unit used some form of “wizardry” to review the content of the Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner laptop.

The Inspector General makes no determination as to who is telling the truth; and never asked the question of whether an actual review of the laptop emails took place.

The FBI still has possession of the Abedin/Weiner laptop.

Happy Fathers Day!

Really, President Trump? Robert Wray is the man who will "proudly bring back the FBI"?

Roger L. Simon writes at PJ Media,
...Wray began his tenure as FBI director some eleven months ago. Since then the record of the organization has been — it's safe to say — atrocious. They have stonewalled, and continue to stonewall, virtually every oversight request from Senate and House committees in outright defiance of the separation of powers. And when they have relented and revealed documents and texts, they have almost always been redacted beyond recognition, raising more questions than they answered.

...Wray would explain, I suppose, that he reports to Rod Rosenstein but is that enough of an excuse for acquiescence to what has been going on for the last year?

The article he wrote in response to the IG's report is mostly mealy-mouthed pabulum. He seems to buy the IG's dubious conclusion that although Michael Horowitz and Co. found myriad examples of anti-Trump bias, that bias did not affect decision making in the investigation. That thinking is so meretricious your eyes roll at the basic prevarication of its premise. Who would leave evidence that their bias affected what they did? Not even Peter Stzrok is that dumb. (Well, almost.)

Horowitz's report was basically Comey lite because like the former FBI director, whom Horowitz rightly excoriates in the report, the inspector general details malfeasance after malfeasance and then lets the culprit off at the end — just as Comey did with Clinton.

I suspect Comey did this in part because he had a guilty conscience. He knew that Hillary was guilty — it was obvious — but he also knew he had to let her off. Obama had made that clear. So he spilled the beans, but then did what good Germans do and went along.

Horowitz has done something similar, although with more depth and intelligence. These actions, pseudo-reforms in essence, are sophisticated ways of maintaining the status quo. (Horowitz may redeem himself with his second report on FISA, etc.)

I hope I'm wrong, but keeping Christopher Wray as FBI director will do exactly the same thing — preserve this same status quo. If you to truly want to reform the FBI, chose someone as far as possible from the system, even from the Department of Justice — someone with completely clean hands who doesn't know any of them. Maybe a country lawyer.

"Always bet on the big dog"

In The New York Post, Michael Walsh asks how does Trump do it?
Simple: the Big Dog takes what he wants. Trump puts his best offer on the table first, and then snatches it away at the first sign of hesitation — as he did with Kim in the run-up to the summit. He has no interest in acceding to diplomatic niceties unless (as in his flattery of Kim in Singapore) they further American national interests. Best of all, he doesn’t care who knows it or what they think about it.

...for the rabid Trump haters, there’s always something to froth about. Before the Singapore summit, the president had infuriated the usual establishment suspects with an offhand remark that he didn’t need much prep work before engaging with Kim, enraging the credentialists, whose outlook on life was formed in late-night cram sessions back at Harvard. That Trump was bringing a lifetime of experience in taking the measure of his man across a bargaining table never occurred to them.

In short, Trudeau, the French popinjay Emmanuel Macron and the colorless Theresa May are now getting the same treatment that, so far, has helped bring Xi and Kim to the table. A pat on the head here, the back of Trump’s hand there, until his opponents realize their best interests actually align with America’s and getting with the program is their best guarantee of self-preservation.

Germany’s chancellor, Angela Merkel, can threaten “resistance” to America all she wants, but any “trade wars” will be nasty, brutish and short, and end with a humiliating climbdown by the European leaders.

In their obsessive quest for “stability,” our Foggy Bottom bonzes forget that nothing lasts forever, including — especially — alliances. Trump’s early skepticism regarding NATO was well-founded, since the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has long outlived its usefulness as a check on Soviet power, but zombie NATO staggers on, even as our European “allies” fail to live up to their obligations to spend at least 2 percent of GDP on defense.

In the past, America has fought wars against Britain, Germany, Japan, Italy, France (during the French and Indian War) and, yes, Canada. At the same time, a war that began in Korea in 1950 may soon be, legally, over. And a fading Russia has already been supplanted in the geopolitical arena by China. Things change.

Trump and his foreign-policy team of Mike Pompeo and John Bolton understand the truth of this dictum from former British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston: “Nations have no permanent friends or allies, they only have permanent interests.” International diplomacy is not a popularity contest or a sewing circle. Instead, it’s a pit-bull arena in which the toughest breed comes out on top and the rest succumb, fall in line or slink away. Always bet on the big dog.

"We'll stop it!"

Lou Dobbs is sharp. He gets right to the nub of issues and does not mince words. Excellent Congressman Jim Jordan from Ohio has a hard time getting a word in edgewise because Lou is so stirred up about the IG report.

Eight days after Peter Strzok opened the counter intelligence operation into the Trump team he assures his lover, top FBI attorney Lisa Page that "We'll stop it" when Page asks for assurance they will stop Trump from being elected.

Dobbs asks Jordan, "How long are you going to put up with Rino Paul Ryan who is leading this country into the abyss? Your colleague Mark Meadows showed everybody how to get this done, and that is with a motion to vacate the chair! Any one of you can stand up and do that at any time and see if he's got 218 votes!"

The Border patrol seizes 6000 pounds of illegal drugs per day! Enough Fentanyl to kill 4 million Americans was seized recently in Ohio.

Christopher Wray, the current FBI Director promises to do some training of the rank and file agents, when it is the FBI leadership that is corrupt! Matt Gaetz, Congressman from Florida, says the real question is what is the Congress going to do about it!

President Trump approved tariffs on $50 billion dollars of Chinese goods.

Is it time to take live t.v. cameras out of the White House Press Briefings? Additionally, Joe Concha from The Hill recommends Monday-only briefings for the White House Press Corps, Tuesday-only for the business press, and Wednesday-only for the foreign media.

Protecting each other

Matt Margolis writes at PJ Media,
From the earliest days of the Obama administration, the Obama/Holder/Lynch Justice Department protected political allies from justice. A slam-dunk case of voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party during the 2008 presidential election was inexplicably dropped, resulting in the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights declaring in the summer of 2010 that there was evidence of “possible unequal administration of justice” by the Justice Department. Obama also blocked a corruption probe that implicated former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for bribery. He also illegally fired an inspector general who was investigating a friend and donor of Obama’s. Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder worked in concert to protect each other. Holder would stonewall congressional investigations into Obama administration corruption and Obama would assert executive privilege to keep damaging information away from the eyes of investigators, such as crucial documents in the Fast and Furious investigation.

MS-13 gangs in middle school 10 miles from White House!

Ann Coulter can't believe her eyes! The Washington Post actually wrote about a middle school ten miles from the White House where MS-13 gangs are operating!
...MS-13 has turned Wirt into a battleground. There have been near-daily gang fights, rampant drug dealing, one reported rape, gang signs on the walls, one shooting -- more in nearby schools -- and teachers afraid to be alone with their students. At least two students are required to have security officers assigned to them, walking them from class to class and watching them during lunch hour, on account of MS-13 threatening to kill them.

...Thanks to mass Muslim immigration, the FBI has terrorist watch lists in ALL 50 STATES. That's why whenever there's a terrorist attack, the FBI says, Oh yeah, we were watching that guy. And now we have police bodyguards for kids at schools wherever "unaccompanied minors" have been dumped by our government.

In addition to the free school lunches, transportation, housing and health care to pay for all this wonderful diversity, immigrants are also massively ratcheting up law enforcement costs.

It would be enraging enough if bad things were happening to our country and the immigrants were paying for it. But we're paying for it. Wait -- you are offering to bring gang warfare, drug cartels and terrorism? We'll go top dollar for that! Put your wallet away! Your money's no good here!

The reason for this transformation of our country, our culture and our politics is to flood the market with low-wage workers and Democratic voters. Obviously, those are losing arguments, so the beneficiaries of mass Third World immigration lie. They claim that anyone who doesn't want to supply the rich with cheap labor must hate Hispanics.

Trump thought North Korea was hard? With immigration, we have all of the most influential forces in our culture on the same page. Immigration is a great unifier of the rich and powerful.

The rich are like sharks -- all appetite, no brain. With their cheap labor voting 7-3 for the Democrats, it won't be long until Democrats have a lock on government. What do you think they'll do then, Business Roundtable? Answer: Make it impossible to do business. Google "California."

With the Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable and the Koch brothers' incessant lobbying for more and more cheap labor, we see exactly what Lenin said about the capitalists: They will sell us the rope with which to hang them.

The rich don't care. They can't think beyond next quarter's earnings.

"Let the good times roll!"

Laura clarifies Manafort was jailed after Mueller claimed Manafort was trying to tamper with witnesses. How can a judge incarcerate him prior to his trial?

Laura is already looking forward in hopes that maybe the next IG report will have more good stuff in it for our side!

Giuliani seems kind of clownish to me at times. He seems to be an easy target for the moral preening outrage mobs in the media.

$17 million has been spent by the Mueller team in order to get something on Trump.

What will the Trump Resistance people try next to get him? Obama called us "bitter clingers" and Hillary called us "a basket of deplorables." The IG report reveals an FBI agent called us "all poor to middle class, uneducated, lazy POS that think Trump will magically grant them jobs for doing nothing."

Dick Morris: Trump is a builder. He gets stuff built!

Did you see Trump hold a press conference for about 45 minutes in the White House driveway?

Howard Kurtz notices that the media have a new four letter word for Trump supporters: cult!

Laura describes the demagoguery over kids separated from illegal immigrant parents. Former GOP Chairman Michael Steele describes our Border Patrol as running concentration camps!

Harmeet Dhillon describes the proposal to split California into three states as "whacky." Laura is doing tonight's show from San Francisco and she definitely notices a deterioration from when she was last there two years ago. She'll be in L.A. Monday and Tuesday night.

Paul Manafort in jail, Kim Strassel on FBI corruption under Comey, Obama lies about Hillary's email server, media bias in choosing how to tell Americans about the IG report, Coloradoan maces himself to get a seat in Congress

Tucker talks about the jailing of Paul Manafort for writing an op-ed after a judge told him not to. Also Manafort is charged with a felony for acting on behalf of a foreign power trying to influence our government without registering, something about half of the population of Washington D.C. does! To furnish his viewers with another point of view, Tucker's guest worked in Harry Reid's office, perhaps the most corrupt Senator of our lifetime!

Kim Strassel of the Wall Street Journal is Tucker's guest to discuss the IG report. She says the report is a very damning indictment of Jim Comey's leadership while he was with the FBI. In fact, the report is a searing indictment of the entire FBI and its culture. They impose rules on everyone else but they do not live by them! Employees use their home computers and cell phones for work business.

Dan Bongino joined Tucker to talk about Obama lying about learning about Hillary's email sever from the media, when, in fact, Obama was one of 13 people who regularly emailed back and forth with Hillary on that nongovernmental server.

What can the FBI do to recover its trust from the American people? Terry Turchie, a former FBI administrator tells Tucker it is a question a lot of current and former FBI agensts are asking. Peter Strzok is not only still working at the FBI, he is in HR. Think of all the data he has access to!

Tucker shows how the media coverage of the IG report was biased. Larry O'Connor writes for the Washington Times and is Tucker's guest on this subject. The media is trying so hard to make believe there is no there there!

Shall we no longer arrest illegal immigrants?

A Colorado Democrat maced himself in the face, hoping to get a seat in Congress. What else is he willing to do to win? He comes on the program and doesn't answer any questions, which Tucker jokingly said should automatically qualify him for Congress!

Moral preening

Heather MacDonald writes in the New York Post,
...why should social-justice warriors want to subject these potential asylees to the horrors of America?

In coming to the US, if you believe the dominant feminist narrative, the female aliens would simply be exchanging their local violent patriarchy for a new one. Indeed, it should be a mystery to these committed progressives why any Third World resident would seek to enter the US.

Not only is rape culture pervasive in the US, but the very lifeblood of America is the destruction of “black bodies,” in the words of media star Ta-Nehesi Coates. Surely, a Third World person of color would be better off staying in his home country, where he is free from genocidal whiteness and the murderous legacy of Western civilization and Enlightenment values.

But the same left-wing establishment that in the morning rails against American oppression of an ever-expanding number of victim groups in the afternoon denounces the US for not giving unlimited access to foreign members of those same victim groups.

In their open-borders afternoon mode, progressives paint the United States as the only source of hope and opportunity for low-skilled, low-social-capital Third Worlders; a place obligated by its immigration history to take in all comers, forever.

In their America-as-the-font-of-all-evil-against-females-and-persons-of-color morning mode, progressives paint the US as the place where hope and opportunity die under a tsunami of misogyny and racism.

Which reality do progressives actually believe? They likely hold both mutually exclusive concepts in their heads simultaneously, unaware of the contradiction, toggling smoothly between one and the other according to context. But both claims cannot be true.

And actions speak more loudly than words. In pressing for an immigration policy determined by the desire of hundreds of millions of foreigners to enter the US, progressives implicitly acknowledge that the left-wing narrative about America is false. In fact, there is no place on earth less governed by tribal prejudice and machismo than the United States. The left-wing narrative is simply a form of moral preening.

The US southern border is currently beset by a flow of Central American migrants who have been coached to tell border guards the magic words: that they have a “well-founded fear of persecution” in their home country. Once someone claims asylum, he is usually released on his own recognizance, free to show up — or not — for his immigration hearing.

If he commits a crime, or otherwise ends up in deportation proceedings, his supporters will cry that he has an application for asylum “pending.” There is now a backlog of over 300,000 asylum claims in the courts.

The most important reason why the US is such a magnet to people the world over is the rule of law. Progressives would destroy that lawfulness, even as they publicly deny its legacy of tolerance and justice.

Biases

Bookworm agrees with Andy McCarthy's comments about IG Horowitz's failure to apply common sense, and she adds another important point.
Here’s the way it goes if you’re a lawyer, sizing up a jury: Lawyers understand that everyone has biases, or filters, through which he or she views the world. In many, indeed most, situations, our biases are are acceptable and are relevant only insofar as they affect our own decisions in life. For example, the fact that you are fond of cops because your dad was a cop is a fairly irrelevant matter in most areas of life. You might like donuts more than the next person, or follow a police-friendly feed on Twitter, but your preference (or bias or filter) does not affect justice or safety or honor. However, if you’re being sized up for a jury in a DUI case, and the defense is police malfeasance, your strong fondness for cops is an unacceptable bias. The defense attorney will act strenuously to ensure that you’re not on the jury.

Likewise, if you’re an FBI agent who loathes Trumps and loves Hillary, but your beat is organized crime in North Dakota, your political preferences in the run-up and follow-up to the 2016 election are irrelevant. However, if you have those same biases and you’re working on either the Hillary or the Trump investigation, those biases should presumptively disqualify you from working on the case(s), in the same way that the cop lover shouldn’t be a jury on a case that has as its central issue police behavior.

Once Horowitz identified the blazing, oozing contempt that animated top FBI officials on the Hillary and Trump cases, that should have been game over. Just as Comey overreached by imputing a lack of intent to Hillary, so did Horowitz overreach by stating that, manifest biases notwithstanding, it was still possible that these biases did not affect the FBI agents’ behavior. It was not Horowitz’s responsibility to speculate about the effect of the bias. It was enough that the bias was there and that the FBI not only didn’t bar these agents from working the cases, it encouraged them.

(And yes, I’m perfectly aware that the facts Horowitz adduced showed that the Fibbies repeatedly acted on their bias, all to Hillary’s benefit. I’m just challenging Horowitz’s own standards here, rather than making a whole argument about his erroneous, ridiculous conclusions.)

I applaud Horowitz for honestly reporting the facts; I consider him a coward and a failure for refusing to reach the obvious conclusion to be derived from those facts: the Clinton investigation was completely, irreparably, and possibly criminally compromised by agents whose biases went to the heart of the case.

Individual discrimination thwarts that greatest evil of our age: totalitarianism.

Do you believe you have the right to discriminate? If you said no, here are some excerpts from an article by Bruce Walker at American Thinker.
The left has created a macabre myth that runs counter to the whole experience of mankind. The left has persuaded the gullible masses of America, including, sadly, most conservatives, that "discrimination" by individuals and businesses is wrong and that it violates the Constitution.

Precisely the opposite is true. All serious cognition and all honest moral judgments involve discrimination. When individuals and businesses are not free to discriminate, then the power to determine what is true and false and good and bad becomes the sole property of the state – or that even more odious creature, that lobotomized Frankenstein monster, "society."

Instead of diverse opinions and actions freely manifest, which are what happens when the state and society are denied the power to force a certain viewpoint down the throats of private citizens and enterprises, what happens is that all debate, all differences, and all individuality are crushed based upon what those who run the state or manipulate society deem sacrosanct.

Fathers are Special People

Guest post
by Suzann Darnall

I have shared this essential message before, but it can never be said too often. The message then and now is still the same. Fathers matter. Men are important in our lives. In the face of all the man-hating being spewed by some factions, I felt I needed to share this message again. With a few changes, as life is always about change.

It really does not matter the name we give them. Whether they are Father, Dad, Daddy, Pops, or other nickname, they are special. It does not matter if they are biologically related to us or if they are connected by the heart. What matters is that these men help shape us and guide us from childhood to adulthood. They are patriarchs in our homes and protectors against the world. So, I revisit and update an essay of days past to honor those special men in my life who have many names and nicknames.

While I am on the subject, I do not think “Father’s Day” should be renamed as “Special Person’s Day”. I do believe fathers to be special people, but I also believe them to be deserving of their own day. Named for them. Honoring them. Not needing to share it with others. After all, fathers matter. They are important. Let them know it!

The holiday known as Father’s Day has been around for just over a century. As we prepare to celebrate it on Sunday, I want to tell you about some very special men: my great-grandfather, John Sayre; my grandfathers, Douglas Dale and Hazen Sayre; my father, Curtis Dale; my husband, Pete Darnall; and my sons-in-law, Casey Allred and Ray Gutierrez. While there are other good men in my family, I could not talk about all of them, so I selected those closest to me.

My great-grandfather, known as Grandpa Sayre, lived to be 102. Not only did he live into my adult years, my own daughters were blessed to meet him when they were old enough to have memories of visiting him. Three generations of women in my family remember visiting Grandpa on his farm: my mother, me, and my girls. We all loved going there. To this day I cannot eat an ear of corn on the cob without thinking of family dinners there.

Grandpa was a church-going, God-fearing man. He and my great-grandmother were married for nearly 70 years. Much of what I believe about God and marriage come from things I learned from them.

His son, my mother's father, Papa Sayre, was a welder and worked at a chemical plant for most of the years I remember. Papa Sayre was not a church-goer, but was without doubt one of the most honest and compassionate men I ever knew.

From him I learned a love of learning, even if it was not formal education. He also taught me a lot about the importance of family and loving one's spouse better than one's self. He cared for my Mommac, his beloved wife, until her death and loved her until the day he died. I can never hear the song, "He Stopped Loving Her Today", without thinking of Papa Sayre and Mommac.

He also grew the most beautiful roses in his front yard. In addition, he gardened in his backyard and did home canning. Mostly peppers, pickles, and hot sauces. It is because of him that I have a rock garden outside my bedroom with numerous rosebushes!

Not only was I able to spend lots of time with Papa Sayre, both of my daughters got to know him well. Especially in the years we lived close to West Virginia, while in Ohio and later in Virginia. When I was little I got to find a York Peppermint Patty left in his lunch box after his day at work. Later for my daughters, this was finding his stash of York patties in the fridge or freezer. I still keep a jar of chocolate mint patties on my counter, only now they are the sugar-free variety!

My paternal grandfather, Papa Dale, was the first person in his family to graduate from high school. He was also a church-going, God-fearing, bible-reading man. He liked hunting, too. A love of reading was passed from him to my father, and down to me. This love of books has now been passed along to my children and my grandchildren.

He also gardened and was a recognized regional expert on wildflowers in West Virginia. I can never look at the lovely blooms on my place without remembering him telling me that if it had a blossom is was a wildflower, not a weed. He truly saw the beauty of the world around him.

I was blessed to also spend time with Papa Dale as a child and as an adult. Even more special is that my daughters also got to spend time with him and have memories of the home place on Brown's Creek that will last a lifetime.

My father was a career Air Force officer so military life is wrapped throughout my memories of life with him. Because of him I fell a little bit in love with The United States Air Force and have never quite recovered from the romance. It ultimately led to my marriage to another Air Force officer.

Dad loves words. Whether reading, writing, or talking. He passed this joy on to me. It is because of his direct influence that I write today.

He also infected me with a passion for politics. He thinks the presidential election is the Olympics, Super Bowl, and World Series all rolled into one. He watches the lesser contests with interest, but nothing warms his soul quite like the main event.

My father is kind of a Renaissance Man. There is almost nothing he cannot do. In addition to things already mentioned his talents cover (but are not limited to) oil painting, furniture building, jelly making, gardening, piano playing, music writing . . . and the list goes on and on. He also taught me how to make the perfect roasted turkey, a skill appreciated by my husband, my children, and now my grandchildren.

My father is also responsible in a great way for my family and me being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. His quest for the truth of the gospel has led many of us through the chapel doors and many to the temple.

My husband, Pete, is without a doubt the most important man in my life. Not only do I love him, I like him. He is my eternal sweetheart and my best friend. We have a never-ending romance and lots of fun. It has been a wonderful life for nearly 41 years.

On the Monday after Father's Day, it will have been 41 years since we met, in fact. We were married just over a month and a half later. I'd say our whirlwind romance turned into a perfect storm.

My dear Pete is not only a wonderful husband, he has proven to be a marvelous father and an incomparable grandfather. Our grandchildren certainly love their PawPaw.

From him I have learned to be less afraid to try new things, even if I might not be certain I will be able to do them well. Because of his willingness to just jump right in we have seen and done things from coast to coast here in the USA and all over Japan, as well as a little bit in Korea. We also did camping, learned a love of guns and shooting, built a tree-house fort, and made improvements, repairs, additions, or beautifications all over our property. I am grateful to him for expanding my world, my experiences, and my talents.

It is because of my great love for this incredible man that I had to join the LDS Church. I knew a lifetime would not be enough, I needed him forever. Only the Mormon missionaries shared that aspect of the gospel with me. And, eventually, he heard it from them too. I will always be grateful to him for walking along this path to eternity with me.

Our daughter, Charly, brought the next amazing man into my life. She met Casey while attending the local university branch of our church here in town. To make a long story short: they became friends, fell in love, got married, and have given us four darling granddaughters: Logan, Mckayla, Tabitha, and Reese.

Casey is a fine man who loves his wife and family very much. He is also a firefighter/EMT. And, an excellent cook and amazing wood craftsman.

Having raised two girls it has been nice to have Casey step into my life and give me the love of a son. He has fit into our family so well. He welcomes Pete and me into their home and lives as easily as Charly does. I am grateful he has not cast me into the traditional adversarial role of mother-in-law, but just loves me as Charly's mom.

A couple of years ago we have added another father figure to our family. Ray married our daughter, Amanda, and also pledged his love for our grandchildren: Lorelle and Tyler.

Ray is a man who shares my passion for learning and books, plus a love of family. He has become another son to my heart. Most importantly, though, is knowing he not only wants to be a good husband to my daughter, but he is striving to be “Super Dad” for my grandkids. He offers them peace and protection.

I cannot mention fatherhood, especially regarding Ray, without mentioning a loss our entire family suffered a little more than 2 years ago. Ray and Amanda had a beautiful daughter, Vivien Reyna, come into this world much too early to survive. But, she was born alive and lived long enough for us to meet her. Although Ray will not raise her on this side of the veil, I know his heart is filled with a father’s love for his child and I know he will greet her with great joy when all are united in the eternities!

For me this holiday is about celebrating the living and honoring the dead. It isn't just about buying a gift for my husband or making a phone call to my dad, it is about remembering all the fathers who have made my life better and who have had a part in making me who I am.

Take time this Sunday to let the special fathers in your life know you care. Grandfathers, fathers, husbands, fathers-in-law, and sons-in-law all impact our lives with their influences on our extended families. Remember to tell them today that they are loved and important, 'cause it might be too late tomorrow.

Not falling for it any longer

Charlie Martin wrote at PJ Media,
...The legacy media, the Obama FBI, CIA, and Department of Justice all decided that it was just ignorant hicks who would vote for Trump and that it was their responsibility to construct an "insurance policy" against it. When that failed, they decided it was their responsibility to #Resist, acting as if merely being elected by a majority in the Electoral College didn't make Trump the legitimate President.

Their problem now: those ignorant hicks have caught on, and they're no longer falling for it.

IG Horowitz has weaved a no-common-sense report.

Andrew McCarthy, as you would expect, has dived in to read the IG report. He writes in National Review,
...try wading through 568 pages of this stuff, particularly on the central issue of the investigators’ anti-Trump bias. The report acknowledges that contempt for Trump was pervasive among several of the top FBI and DOJ officials making decisions about the investigation. So this deep-seated bias must have affected the decision-making, right? Well, the report concludes, who really knows?

In every criminal trial, the defense lawyer tries to sow reasonable doubt by depicting every allegation, every factual transaction, as if it stood alone. In a drug case, if the defendant was photographed delivering a brown paper bag on Wednesday, the lawyer argues, “Well, we don’t have X-ray vision, how do we really know there was heroin in the bag?” The jurors are urged that when they consider what happened Wednesday, there is only Wednesday; they must put out of their minds that text from Tuesday, when the defendant told his girlfriend, “I always deliver the ‘product’ in paper bags.”

Fortunately, the judge ends up explaining to the jury that, down here on Planet Earth, common sense applies. In our everyday lives, we don’t look at related events in isolation; we view them in conjunction because they read on each other. Let’s say on Monday I confide to my friend that I can’t stand Bob, and on Tuesday I tell Bob I can’t join him for dinner because I have other plans. It may or may not be true that I have other plans, but common sense tells you my disdain for Bob has factored into the decision — even if I don’t announce that fact to Bob.

For all his assiduous attention to detail, IG Horowitz has weaved a no-common-sense report.

On August 8, 2016, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, borderline hysterical, texts her lover, agent Peter Strzok, about GOP candidate Donald Trump: “He’s not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”

Strzok replies, “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.”

Now mind you, Page isn’t just any old lawyer; she is counsel to the FBI’s deputy director (Andrew McCabe) and involved in virtually every significant decision the bureau makes. And Strzok is not any old agent; he is deputy assistant director and one of the FBI’s top counterespionage agents — and he steered both relevant investigations, Clinton-emails and Trump-Russia.

This August 8 text exchange does not occur in a vacuum. It is part of ceaseless stream of anti-Trump bile. It is, moreover, just a week before the infamous text in which we learn that top-level bureau officials met in the deputy director’s office to discuss what they saw as the harrowing possibility of a Trump presidency; Strzok urged that, though highly unlikely, this prospect was so intolerable that the bureau needed an “insurance policy” against it — i.e., the Russia investigation.

The August 8 text also occurs against a backdrop in which the FBI has rushed to close the Clinton-emails investigation on an arbitrary deadline for patently political reasons — no other criminal investigation is guided by the electoral calendar. And it occurs at the moment the FBI is moving aggressively to turn its counterintelligence powers against the Trump campaign: An informant has already been deployed, intelligence agents are mobilizing, foreign intelligence contacts have been tapped, and the bureau will soon submit to the FISA court an application to surveil Trump adviser Carter Page — an application that breaks every rule in the book: anonymous foreign sources spouting multiple hearsay, no corroboration, no disclosure to the court that it comes from the opposition presidential campaign, no explanation that the foreigner who supplied the unverified allegations has been booted from the investigation for lying, etc.

...When Ted Cruz dropped out of the GOP presidential race, making Trump the de facto nominee, the very first thing Strzok said upon hearing the news from Page was, “Now the pressure really starts to finish MYE” — i.e., “Mid Year Exam,” the code name for the Clinton caper. The best way to “stop” Trump was to free Hillary to beat him. So, the bureau simultaneously labored to close the case on her and invent a case on him.

In the blink of an eye, then-director Comey was briefing Obama’s National Security Council on Carter Page; the Obama intelligence agencies were tapping their foreign partners, targeting Trump-campaign advisers to run informants at, and internalizing the Steele dossier. While the FBI scooped up the last laptops it needed to complete the predetermined closing of the emails probe, Attorney General Lynch had her convenient tarmac chat with Bill Clinton, and the bureau conducted the perfunctory interview with Hillary — an interview so pointless that the FBI and Justice Department did not object to the presence of Mrs. Clinton’s co-conspirators in the room, even though the IG report concedes that this flouted elementary investigative protocols.

...The only thing that mattered in the Clinton case was that the FBI avoid doing anything too grossly indefensible in implementing the months-long strategy to close the case without charges after appearing to do an energetic investigation. But the Trump case matters because it “MATTERS” — because in the Trump case, Strzok and Page and the others actually get to do what the FBI usually does: make a case on a bad guy we have to “stop” — informants, wiretaps, subpoenas, predawn search warrants with guns drawn, charging people who lie to us, threatening decades of imprisonment against witnesses we’re trying to flip.

...The candidate they were almost certain would win got the case dropped; the candidate they needed an “insurance policy” against . . . well, whaddya know — the case against him is still going . . . and going . . . and going.

Did bias have anything to do with that? In 568 pages that leave out the Trump half of the story, we’re told the answer is, “Who really knows?”

I think we know.

Trump: "Comey was the ringleader of this whole den of thieves!"

Trump: "Not the scum on top!" "Comey was the ringleader of this whole den of thieves!"

Jesse Watters says something I have been thinking. The IG report found "no political bias!" There is extreme political bias! Greg pointed to Strzok's promise to his adulteress, "We will stop it." If that is not political bias, what is? Jesse points out that Strzok was the key figure in both the Clinton email investigation and the Russia collusion investigation.

Jesse Watters: "If Obama would have gotten this far with North Korea, they would have already been carving his face in Mount Rushmore!"

Abby Huntsman was on the panel for Dana Perino and Marie Harf was a welcome substitute for Juan Williams.
