Was the Dove Soap ad racist, or was it a nod to diversity?

The Associated Press reported,

Soap maker Dove faces criticism for body wash ad showing black woman taking off her shirt to reveal a white woman.

The truth:

After the black woman turns into a white woman, the white woman turns into a Hispanic woman.

The ad is meant as a nod to diversity. This product is for everyone is what they're saying.
