Hurricane Irma, donors and lobbyists, Trump makes a deal with "Chuck and Nancy"

As people in Florida prepare for Hurricane Irma, Rush Limbaugh asks why people are buying so much bottled water. Rush recommends turning on your tap water and filling empty containers.

Rush says Governor Scott is putting in a Herculean effort preparing for Irma. The eye of the hurricane is almost as wide as the state. Throw the media into the mix: they run with extreme forecasts and run with it, tieing it to climate change.

The NFL starts tonight. Nobody in Florida is showing any interest, including Rush.

Rush has the same take on politics as Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse: it is the donors and lobbyists who have the ears of the politicians. Rush believes if the Republican establishment would have cooperated with the Trump agenda (build the wall, tax reform, trade and economy) the Democrats would be out of power for another 25 years! But they didn't, so whom does Trump make a deal with? "Chuck and Nancy!" Rush repeatedly reminds us that Trump is not ideological. Even if he makes deals with Democrats, he is not going to get admiration from the media. The media hates him and have been united in disparaging him at every turn.

Here is something Rush and Scott Adams both say: "Any strategy designed to change the minds of irrational critics is ill-conceived." They begin from a point of irrationality, bias, and prejudice.

Will the fact that Trump made a deal with "Nancy and Chuck" bring Ryan and McConnell around to a wake-up call: we better help Trump with his agenda or we're gonna be left out in the cold! No, Rush believes McConnell and Ryan are closer to Pelosi and Schumer than they are to Trump. They're fine with Trump making deals with Democrats! "Washington can work when we are in the majority!" What is their actual agenda? Stop Trump!

Ben Shapiro makes the point that political capital must be used. Rush says Republicans are not going to repeal Obamacare, and it will eventually become single payer. "Only the government can run things," is the motto of Democrats. It's an entitlement, and entitlements never get repealed!

Mark Steyn will host the program tomorrow as Rush personally deals with the hurricane.
