The most restrictive gun laws in the country. Also the most armed robberies!

Bryan Preston writes that
Washington DC has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, even after the Heller decision. So how can it be that the city of just 632,000 saw nearly 1,400 armed robberies last year?

In researching the statistics, I learned that the numbers are released in the fall of each year by the F.B.I. In 2012 here was the rankings of cities who had the highest rate of armed robberies. Please remind me not to move to any one of these places.

1.) Oakland (10.9 robberies per 1,000 residents)
2.) Cleveland (8.3)
3.) Newark, N. J. (7.1)
4.) Detroit (6.8)
5.) Flint, Mich. (6.6)
6.) New Haven, Conn. (6.5)
7.) Washington, D.C. (5.9)
8.) Cincinnati (5.8)
9.) Paterson, N.J. (5.8)
10.) Baltimore (5.8)
