Tending the garden of our minds

In her book My Stroke of Insight Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor tells us about her devastating stroke and then eight-year recovery. She lost the functioning of her left brain, but then gradually recovered it. Not everything she regained was good. She regained some of those negative loops that we all have; unceasingly judgmental, and counter-productive patterns of thought.

To combat these she purposely thinks about positive things. What things in life bring me great joy? What is something I would like to ponder more deeply? What is something I would really like to do? She calls it "tending the garden of her mind."

Let's try those today!
