The weather is better in Colorado, but the people are nicer in Alabama

I spoke with a man today who grew up in Mobile, Alabama. I asked him to compare Colorado and Alabama. He said he liked Colorado's weather better, because the sun shines so brightly most days. He said it often rained in Mobile all day long. While it snows often in Colorado, it usually clears up and becomes nice and sunny the next day.

Then I asked him about the people. He said the "peoples" are much nicer in Alabama. Yes, he is a black man. As an example, he told me that he had never seen a woman walking alone until he came to Colorado. Now he sees that almost every day where he lives, which is in Aurora. He said that in Alabama if a woman is walking alone, a man will stop to ask her if she would like a ride, unless she is obviously exercising.

In Colorado if a man stopped to offer a woman a ride, she would whip out her iPhone or Blackberry and call 911 immediately.

I hope to get the opportunity to ask him more about his experiences as a black man in the two states.
