What Ideas Brought Them Into Power?

Does Barack Obama understand Iran's totalitarian regime? Does he want to understand? Or, would such an understanding destroy some of his dearest illusions to which he is determined to cling? He made many positive comments in his Cairo speech about Islam, the Koran, and the history of the Middle Eastern countries. But, has he studied how a particular set of ideas has become victorious in Iran, and that victory has brought into power the most brutal and vicious elements, Ahmahdinejad and the mullahs?

I still can't figure out if Obama is stupid, cunning or totally misguided...Rush may be right...this may be exactly what he wants.

And your point is....?

I'm sure that asa Constitutional lawyer and teacher, he's well read on the subject, and even reads the daily intelligence estimates, unlike George W. His speech has inluenced the Lebanese elections, and may have influence on the Iranian one. He's forcing Benjamin Netanyahu to get off his complacent butt and perhaps seriously begin negotiations. Pretty good results for just a speech.

Iran is having an election. Keep them in your prayers.

If the opposition wins, it won't please the west (he'll probably keep making a bomb and keep some Islamic laws intact, after all the Mullahs still run the show)... but he won't be a demagogue either, and the "nuke Israel" will go back to the past, when they helped Iran secretly in the terrible war against Saddam Hussein's aggression...

So Israel will be safe, Iran will have nukes but will tone down the rhetorick, and the Saudis will be sweating in their shoes.
