On MSNBC, Mika Brzezinski uses a homophobic slur against our Secretary of State

Adriana Cohen writes at the Boston Herald,
The double standards surrounding political correctness are beyond unfair and arbitrary.

They’re a joke and the laugh is on us.

Take Trump-hating, uber-liberal Mika Brzezinski who co-hosts the “Morning Joe” show on MSNBC. Day in and day out she haughtily berates and belittles the president but Wednesday she went where no PC-abiding American should go — especially those on the left who supposedly champion the LGBTQ community — when she made an extremely vulgar homophobic slur on live TV.

When discussing that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hasn’t held Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman accountable for the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Brzezinski let her slurs flow.

“Are the pathetic deflections that we just heard when he appeared on Fox & Friends — is that a patriot speaking?” she asked. “Or a wannabe dictator’s butt-boy? I’m dead serious, I’m asking: are these the words of a patriot?”

Yikes.

The elitist liberal co-host showed zero respect or dignity for the gay community and still has her job. But not pro-Trump TV icon Roseanne Barr who not so long ago tweeted an offensive remark about a former Obama administration official and was sent to the career guillotine. Barr was swiftly fired from her highly rated show by the top brass at ABC despite apologizing and explaining she was on medication.

So far, despite issuing an apology, Mrs. Joe Scarborough is still fully employed at the Trump-loathing cable news network.

Double standards? Or clearly political given Roseanne Barr’s small-screen character acknowledged Trump supporters in a respectful manner versus making half the country a punchline — something Hollywood loves to do.

Then there’s Kevin Hart. This week the comedian had to withdraw from hosting the coveted 2019 Oscars due to a few homophobic jokes that surfaced from years ago. Despite a career that poked fun at everyone — not just the gay community — Hart profusely apologized for his PC sins and is now praying he isn’t blackballed in Tinsel Town for good.

The double standards are endless.
