Elite condescension around the world

Mark is interested in the contempt with which our elites hold us and our heritage. You can either listen to the audio of Mark answering questions from club members or read what he has to say.

From the audio:
Who has the freest economy? Hong Kong! The US came in at number 11/12 tied with Canada! Nine of the twelve are former members of the British empire. So the best thing that can happen to a country is to be infected with the British idea of liberty!

We remember William Wilberforce for his role in ending slavery. But did you know he was also instrumental in stopping child prostitution, which was once rampant in Britain among teenage girls? Most people are not courageous. They accept what is commonly going on around them.

Manners! Where are the manners of the NFL players who refuse to stand for the national anthem? 80% of our lives used to be regulated by manners, by a sense of what's appropriate. The national anthem is not an opportunity for self-expression!

Would Mark ever consider running for office? Hugh Hewitt tried to get Mark in the running to be Senator from New Hampshire. His one experience, attending the Monica Lewinsky hearings in the US Senate, left him with a repugnant view of the place. To Mark it is more important to create conditions whereby the wrong people do the right thing.

Harvey Weinstein? Mark writes,
This is not just a very starry class-action suit-in-waiting, but also a revealing glimpse of the depravity of a very ugly industry, whose self-congratulation on its own moral superiority is in inverse proportion to the grubby reality. Usually in these kinds of cases, the victims are low-level female employees, poorly paid and with zero clout within the business - see, for example, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, etc. But Weinstein abused some of the most famous women on the planet - Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Angelina Jolie, Heather Graham, Rosanna Arquette... These ladies are not just award-winning actresses but businesswomen with their own companies, UN special envoys, directors and producers - and, in a couple of cases, global brands. Miss Jolie, for example, was a prominent participant at the UN Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict. And yet the genius of liberal, progressive, Democrat Hollywood is that, under Harvey Weinstein and his pals, it can reduce powerful, successful women to the level of the poorest, most vulnerable, minimum-wage entry-level worker in Slick Willie's Arkansas state bureaucracy. Congratulations, feminists. The lies you told yourselves during the Clinton era really paid off.

On the audio, Mark points out that Weinstein is "their guy," meaning the Left. Although his behavior was well known, they have stuck with him through it all. His company was purchased by Disney, who paid off his victims. Disney!
