Asking gotcha questions, then denying it.

Hugh Hewitt interviewed both Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina today; first, Trump, and then Fiorina. I read both interviews, and I detect that Hewitt was much easier on Fiorina than Trump. Read the interview with Trump here and with Fiorina here.

Oh, I think Hugh Hewitt has been dogging Trump from the outset while claiming he is neutral since he will be a questioner in an upcoming debate. But he has done a lot of faint praise to Trump. In this case, I think it was a total setup. He found a little known name, "Quds," and then set up a careful inquisition of Quds instead of the far better known "Kurds." I think it was to try to catch Trump of guard then attempt to humiliate him as being uninformed on this point of international affairs. Hewitt had announced he would asked the same questions. So, the way he handled it after the first question was the setup. DT later revealed that he knew the subject matter, and CF admitted that the difference between the two names Quds and Kurds was confusing to her as well. Hewitt's DEMEANOR made the difference for me. With Trump, it was definitely a "gotcha" demeanor, and with CF, it was a more helpful, accommodating manner. I listen to Hewitt and have met him. He gave Daniel a copy of one of his books some years ago, interviewed Daniel a bit, and signed the book. But he does get quite overly impressed with his own importance and self proclaimed brilliance. I think he is for Jeb Bush, hook line and sinker. I also think he plays to California since he is such a big wheel (or seems to think so at Chapman School of Law.
