Singling out Wal-Mart

William Teach reports on an action taken by the Washington DC Council to require Wal-Mart to pay employees $12.50 per hour if it opens any stores in the DC area. Wal-Mart had planned to open six stores employing up to 1800 people. Now the planned stores may be in jeopardy. Teach writes,
Wal-Mart has long been in the crosshairs of Democrats, mostly because Wal-Mart refuses to allow unionization, along with its employees constantly voting against unionization. They let that hatred override the fact that Wal-Mart employees lots and lots of people, many of whom move up within the company.
