Fostering kindness, grace, and intimacy in our homes

When are we being parents, and when are we being self-righteous jerks? Do we sometimes care about the wrong thing at the wrong time?

When our children share something with us in conversation, knowing that they are risking our scorn, they are doing something brave. It is an opportunity for sharing love. As Jason Grey writes, it may be an opportunity

to foster a culture of kindness, grace, and intimacy in our home.

Jason advises us to think before we respond to our children.

I wondered if there was something else I might say that would be better, something that might help foster kindness, grace, and intimacy in our home.
