Mirroring: a psychological pathology where you assume that the other guy thinks like you do. The result? A tinpot dictator in North Korea is dictating the terms of engagement with the most powerful country in the world, the United States! Bill Whittle believes the only thing dictators like Kim Jong-un understand is fear. That what he needs from us is a clear and believable statement from us that any aggression he tries will result in his destruction.
But, we do not do that? Why? Because we are led by elitist, vain, self-centered narcissists who are historically ignorant and intellectually arrogant! Our leaders believe they can appease dictators like Kim Jong-un (and Adolf Hitler), but we cannot. Why? Because they are tyrants, not appeasement-minded civilized gentlemen! Our leaders assume these dictators want peace, like we do. They don't want peace! They want us under their boot! They see us as weak; we have told them we'll do anything to avoid war. We'll send food for their people.
If we had humility, instead of arrogance, we would understand our enemy, and develop policies that would stop them. But, no, we hang on to our civilized arrogance, and we will pay for it, just like we always do!
