Lessons from The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games movie is the third highest grossing film out of the gate in history! Rhonda Robinson has some tips for parents regarding some of the themes of the movie that we can use as talking points with our kids as they see the movie and read the trilogy. Some of these are: What is your child’s definition of love? How about loyalty? What does keeping your humanity in the midst of inhumanity mean? Why is it necessary to keep government power in check? Can our kids spot demonizing and dehumanizing of select groups? What's the difference between making friendships and making self-serving alliances?
