Victor Davis Hanson supports Larry Elder

Victor Davis Hanson writes,
California once was run by conservatives and mostly centrist Democrats.
True paleo-liberal governors like Pat Brown greatly expanded the welfare state. But they also believed in pushing integration and building freeways, dams, aqueducts and power plants, while preventing forest fires, directing the mentally ill into state hospitals, and ensuring that the state enhanced the housing, timber, oil and gas, nuclear and agricultural industries.
The wealthier the long thin line from San Diego to Berkeley grew, the more the overseers felt they were nearing Utopia, at least in their own lives.
The new Democratic Party liked to redistribute money for the poor and so obeyed the orders from the rich. But they ignored old-fashioned infrastructure that once had allowed the middle class to drive quickly and safely, ensured them water during droughts, curbed their forest fires, and allowed their children to leave school competitively educated.
Reaction, not prevention, was the new mantra. Govs. Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom failed to thin out forests, build water storage and allow affordable housing.
When those problems exploded, they reacted by citing climate change or some other bogeyman as the culprit rather than government dereliction. They preferred utopian high-speed rail solutions to pragmatic problem solving. And they ensured that none of their crackpot ideas ever affected themselves.
The current California recall election is a choice between Gavin Newsom, who embodies the woke, old-boy privilege of the Bay Area, and an alternative direction. Newsom is the epitome of the virtue-signaling elite who patronize the poor and drive out the despised middle class.
Gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder did not give us the current California. Indeed, he spent most of his life warning us where Jerry Brown, Gavin Newsom and the rarified society of the coastal corridor was taking the state.
A careening California is heading for a colossal train wreck. Voters will have to pick between the incompetent engineer snoring at the wheel or the private passenger who rushes into cab to get the engine back on track.

Keith Griffith reports,
The drone strike that the Pentagon claimed killed an ISIS-K suicide bomber in Kabul actually targeted an aid worker who had filled his car with water jugs, rather than explosives, according to a shocking new report.
Zemari Ahmadi, 43, was driving the 1996 Toyota Corolla that was destroyed in the August 29 drone strike, killing him and nine family members, including seven children, according to a New York Times investigation.
Days after the attack, President Joe Biden gave a speech in which he marked the withdrawal of American troops in Afghanistan by the August 31 deadline. He touted America's ability to strike terrorists and targets without boots on the ground. But he failed to mention the high civilian casualty rate from the August 29 drone strike, and he failed to mention that children had been killed.

One of the 9/11 heroes

Susan Edelman writes about 9/11 hero flight attendant Betty Ong.
Calm and businesslike, she told ground employees: “The cockpit’s not answering. Somebody’s stabbed in business class — and I think there’s Mace … I think we’re getting hijacked.”
Authorities were able to quickly identify the five hijackers because Betty and fellow attendant Madeline Sweeney relayed the seat numbers of the men.

Lying to us the whole time!

Oregon Muse believes there should be an Afghan Commission of Inquiry.
Of course this is not going to happen. It is never going to happen. Right now, the Biden administration is refusing to admit it made any mistakes, let along did anything wrong. And I doubt any of other previous actors will, either. But I would think that the federal government owes the American people a satisfactory explanation as to how and why it squandered trillions of taxpayer dollars on such a dumpster fire as the Afghan conflict, and, in particular, they owe an explanation to the families of the men and women of our armed forces who paid with their blood and their lives for nothing but the prolonging of this fruitless enterprise and its ultimate failure.

Abandoning Americans to a terrorist group

The New York Post Editorial Board asks,
when has Team Biden ever come clean about the crises it’s caused, from the border surge to abandoned Americans? Reports indicate the Taliban are using the hostages Biden left them as leverage for cash and/or official recognition of their just-announced government, which includes six terrorists under international sanctions.
Blinken confessed it’s a “challenge” to evacuate people without “personnel on the ground.” No kidding. That’s why Biden initially vowed to keep a presence in Afghanistan until every American and ally was out — and why his team is now trying to pretend it hasn’t abandoned thousands of them to a terrorist group with every incentive to use them as leverage.

Tinkering with a virus in a lab to make it more infectious to humans

Miranda Devine writes,
Tinkering with a virus in the lab to make it more infectious to humans is the very definition of “gain-of-function” research, as stated by the US Department of Health and Human Services: “Research that improves the ability of a pathogen to cause disease.”
Fauci insisted before Congress in May and again in July that the National Institutes of Health never funded this sort of research. But, regardless of how Fauci personally defines the term “gain of function,” the upshot is that the Frankenstein research conducted in Wuhan with American money has been fingered as the most likely source of the virus that has killed millions of people.
Fauci could have explained to Congress, as he did in a 2011 Washington Post op-ed, that “creating a dangerous virus in the laboratory is a risk worth taking.” That was an establishment scientific position until 2015 when the Obama administration, under pressure from scientists worried about a lab leak of a deadly virus, placed a pause on the research in the United States.
He could have been open and honest with the American people. But instead, he denied the undeniable, obfuscated and used sly debating tricks to avoid owning up to his agency’s knowledge and funding of the Chinese research.
If the intelligence community knew about the dangerous research going on at Wuhan and was directing funding to it through Daszak, then it is complicit in a coverup over COVID-19.
If the American government played any part in the research that led to the lab leak that likely caused the pandemic, the world needs to know.

You won't get to hear this at tonight's game!

Mark Tapscott writes,
THIS MAY BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL NATIONAL ANTHEM RENDITION EVER: But fans attending and tuning into tonight’s NFL season opening game between the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys won’t get to hear it.
Victory Boyd, the songwriter/singer, declines to get the Covid vaccine, for religious and medical reasons. So, after agreeing to pay her $20,000 plus expenses for the appearance, the NFL refused her request for an accommodation. Why? Because the NFL insists the national anthem be sung on the field.

"Leaving Americans behind?" "We will leave you behind!"

"It's one big Talibanny world!"

Mark Steyn writes,
Surprise, surprise! After three weeks of trolling about "Taliban 2.0", the new regime in Afghanistan turns out to be, as I said last week, "an 'inclusive' government encompassing both mullahs with full beards and mullahs with three-quarter-length beards". Or as The New York Times puts it: Taliban Appoint Stalwarts to Top Government Posts
One man's stalwart is another man's mass murderer. For example, the new Interior Minister is Sirajuddin Haqqani, whose main experience of the Afghan interior is the last twenty years he's spent blowing various bits of it sky-high. Mr Haqqani is on the FBI's Most Wanted list with a $10 million bounty on his head. Just in case you feel the bloated, hollow, flailing non-superpower isn't enough of a global laughingstock, the G-men add this caution: SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS
I'll say. He's armed with $85 billions' worth of American weaponry. On the other hand, that ten mil in reward money still seems to be up for grabs, so feel free to call 1-800-FED-WANKERS and tell the Bureau Mr Haqqani can be reached at the Ministry of the Interior, Service Road, Kabul. You'll probably have to leave a message, because all the crack agents are out in California faking up next week's white-supremacist kidnapping plot against Governor Newsom.
America topples statues, Canada bans dancing, Australia pepper-sprays girls who show their faces outside their homes: It's one big Talibanny world!

Anthony Fauci: the original super-spreader?

Mark Steyn writes,
Anthony Fauci appears to have perjured himself in his touchy exchange with Senator Rand Paul regarding whether or not his agency funded "gain-of-function" Coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Alas, the court eunuchs of the US media couldn't be less interested in the story, so Fauci is still taken seriously when he warns about the irresponsibility of going unmasked to crowded sports events - as opposed to the irresponsibility of outsourcing gain-of-function to a politicized science lab under Communist control and with the security protocols of the average dentist's office.
Nevertheless, we are edging month by month towards what would once have been a remarkable reality: The official version proclaimed by Fauci and Peter Daszak and The Lancet (this is a natural virus that leapt from bats to humans) and was ruthlessly imposed to the exclusion of all other theories by the Big Tech commissars has less merit to it than that of Chairman Xi and his apparatchiks, who have insisted since last spring that the Yanks are to blame for it all.
The ChiComs are cunning; they are not complete arses, as almost all our leaders are. Four-and-a-half million people are dead of this thing, and at a certain point it will suit the Politburo to announce that something went badly wrong in Wuhan and their running-dog scientists got corrupted by American money, and that the original super-spreader was Anthony Fauci.
Which it looks increasingly like he was.

"When he was bought, he stayed bought!"

Ace of Spades Coblogger CBD writes about Joe Biden,
He's dumb. He's nasty. He's inarticulate. He's a liar. And now he is in the middle stages of dementia.
But none of this is new, except maybe the senility. Joe Biden has always been a dim bulb, whose accomplishments as a senator were conspicuously thin, but whose self-aggrandizement has always been impressive.
Clearly the good people of Delaware are hilariously ignorant and detached from the political process, and just vote reflexively, because they have been represented in the Senate by a man who has never had an original thought, steals every pithy comment he has ever uttered, and is a serial liar even when those lies get him nothing of benefit.
So the question is: Why has Joe Biden been so successful in politics? Occam says that when he was bought, he stayed bought. What other rational explanation is there for this pathetically mediocre intellect to have remained in national politics for 50 years? Of course we have legions of inferior minds in our national government, but Biden is more than just stupid! He stands out for being among the dumbest, the least honest, the nastiest and the least effective of both our elected officials and their counterparts in the deep state.

CNN gives Fauci a pass!

Stacey Lennox writes,
Fauci has appeared before Congress several times and emphatically denied his agency funded this type of research—even in the face of a 2015 study that referred to the work as gain-of-function research. You would think he might be huddled up with communications experts and members of the Biden administration to decide how to resign quietly. That way, Fauci could avoid an inspector general’s investigation and more appearances before Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.).
Instead, Fauci appeared on CNN. Far from asking any hard-hitting questions about the report, host Jim Sciutto never discussed the shocking revelations about the research grants, nor did he ask Fauci how the news squared with his repeated congressional testimony.
Instead, Sciutto asked Fauci to evaluate Florida Governor Ron Desantis’s response to COVID-19 and pontificate about college football games. The interview kicked off with Fauci expressing his concern over children too young to be vaccinated returning to school without masks. Children who are too young to be vaccinated rarely become seriously ill from COVID-19—even the American Academy of Pediatrics has admitted that the Delta variant is not more dangerous to children than previous ones, posing almost no risk to healthy children.
Here’s a dirty little secret: There will be outbreaks of COVID-19 for the rest of our lives. According to The Intercept report, it is quite possible that we have Dr. Anthony Fauci to thank for that. And CNN did not ask him a single question about it.

A physician speaks out against vaccine mandates

A physician writes,
I am a 27 year military veteran of both the Air Force and Army, a board certified emergency physician and employee of a Big Hospital system. I am a graduate of a Big 10 University School of Medicine and completed my residency at a prestigious institution
The FDA made a hasty approval of the Pfizer vaccine, and the floodgates have opened. Now, under the thin veneer of FDA approval, more companies, my hospital included, are mandating the vaccine in order to remain employed.
The hospital’s rationale is that the Delta surge is driven by the unvaccinated. Is this true? The data out of Israel, who is months ahead of our curve with Delta says the opposite. Those who have never had COVID, but did receive the full 2 dose Pfizer regimen are 13 times more likely to get Delta than those with natural immunity, those who contracted the original COVID and recovered. 13 times more likely to contract Delta if you are vaccinated.
So we have a twice novel vaccine with known immediate side effects, no long term study , and which only seems to be effective against the current variant for 4-6 months. Will “take the jab or be fired” be a recurring threat from Big Hospital going forward? Every 6 months, get your booster or you are fired?
Long term effects are just that. They happen months or years later. This is why a new drug takes years to come to market. The FDA graveyard is littered with medications which made it through the approval process, only to be recalled due to an unforeseen long term consequence. Try to buy Zantac, a once popular OTC antacid, at CVS. It was just recalled because an impurity causes cancer. Didn’t see that coming. Vioxx, thalidomide, fen-phen… oops.
In medicine we talk about informed decision making. The old, paternalistic, directive medicine is in the past. We involve patients in their care, inform them, allow them to make the decisions, right or wrong. Politics mixed with science, science has lost and we have now returned to the paternalistic directive medicine of “vaccinate or else”.

Moral Injury

Have you heard of the term moral injury? Adrienne's Corner blog offers these two paragraphs:
Moral injury is the damage done to one’s conscience or moral compass, when that person perpetrates, witnesses, or fails to prevent acts that transgress one’s own moral beliefs, values, or ethical codes of conduct. source
Moral injury refers to an injury to an individual's moral conscience and values resulting from an act of perceived moral transgression, which produces profound emotional guilt and shame, and in some cases also a sense of betrayal, anger and profound "moral disorientation".
Adrienne adds many worthwhile thoughts on the subject here: http://adriennescatholiccorner.blogspot.com/2021/08/moral-injury-decision-fatigue-and.html

Federal lawsuit filed by two active duty military service members to prevent forced vaccinations

Leo Hohmann reports on a
federal lawsuit filed August 30 by two active-duty service members against Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Homeland Security Director Xavier Bacerra and U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Janet Woodcock.
The two defendants represent 220,000 other U.S. military active-duty members who have natural immunity and do not want any of the three synthetic gene-based “vaccines” shot into their bodies.
All three injections, manufactured by Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, are based on an all-new technology, never before used in any previous vaccine, and have never been tested for the long-term health effects on the human body.
The three shots combined have resulted in an unprecedented number of adverse reactions being reported to the government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, including over 13,000 reported deaths, more than double the number of all the other vaccines combined since VAERS was established in 1990.

Six big lies about Afghanistan

However, it seems a little odd now that there’s no videos of the survivors of the Afghan crisis arriving at airports. How the U.S. Taliban narrative will shift

Sundance writes,
The two U.S. internal groups attempting to avoid accountability for the mess in Afghanistan break out to: (1) State Dept, CIA, Intelligence community; -vs- (2) WH, Pentagon and NatSec Council. Currently the State Department and Intelligence Community are winning the blame game. The White House and Pentagon are being identified by most Americans as responsible for the mess.
How does the U.S. State Department pull this off? They do it by positioning the Taliban as poor misunderstood rebels who need “support” to run the country or else… wait for it… yep, a humanitarian crisis will unfold:
Barack Obama is smiling. The newly mechanized army of the Muslim Brotherhood (Taliban Regiment, Afghanistan Division ) will need to be supported; and the people of Afghanistan will need the magnanimous assistance of Western nations to avoid a humanitarian crisis. Afghanistan 2022 stops being a terrorist haven and shifts into the Haiti assistance model of 2010. There are hundreds of billions to be made by groups who will organize that support… and the United States Senate will distribute it.

Manipulation of the 2020 election

Sundance writes,
The bottom line is this…. AG Merrick Garland knows a powder keg is very likely to explode as soon as the majority of American people discover just how manipulated the election of 2020 was. His announcement to double the staff of the DOJ Civil Rights Division voter unit is not to protect election integrity, but rather to position his resources for a war against a looming storm of election review outcomes…. and the White House is so far exposed, they are positioning to use the military to protect their position.
The deep and irrefutable research has been taking place, mostly very quietly, in the background. I would expect the government response to this will be a combination of the DOJ/FBI “domestic extremist” narratives, combined with racism accusations and claims of election disinformation.

Birds in grandma's house, and pheasant for dinner

I am one of those lucky guys who grew up in a stable family with a father who was an excellent role model. Dad grew up in rural Iowa in a town called Goldfield. The toilet was out-of-doors. His mom was a sweet lady named Alice. Alice lived across the street from her sister, Nell, and Nell's family.
We had frequent extended family get-togethers, usually in Goldfield. We would be gathered in the living room of Alice's small house. Nell would start whistling like a bird singing, then she would pretend there was a bird somewhere in the house, and ask me to find the bird. I would persevere, looking in every nook and cranny of the house to no avail, while the family members would snicker. That Iowa sense of humor, good-natured, but nevertheless at someone's expense, was commonplace in my seventeen years of growing up there.
My uncle Bud would be at those gatherings. Bud had been a tail-gunner in the Air Force in World War II, shooting at Germans and being shot at by Germans. His nerves were a bit frayed after the war, and Dad felt great compassion for his brother, helping him buy a cafe in Des Moines. My most vivid memory of Bud was from a time when I had just turned sixteen. Dad and Bud were avid hunters. They decided to go pheasant hunting, and asked me to go with them. Usually when Dad asked me to go hunting with him, I rapidly came up with an excuse: "Thanks, Dad, but I have a basketball practice I've got to attend in order to get ready for next week's game." I knew that going duck hunting with Dad meant crawling on our stomachs in a blizzard.
Well, this time, I had an idea. If I could be the driver of the car, I could learn some skills needed to pass my driver's license. They agreed, since we would be on country roads and not likely to meet another car. As I was driving along on the beautiful autumn day, Uncle Bud, who was seated in the back seat of the Buick, started screaming excitedly, using words I can't repeat here. He demanded I stop the car, as he rolled down the window and pointed his gun out the window at a beautiful pheasant in the adjacent cornfield. "Bam!" We had pheasant for dinner that night, far and away the best part of hunting.

Biden tried to persuade Afghan President to lie!

Charlie Spiering reports,
The White House Wednesday refused to address leaked details of a conversation between President Joe Biden and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani revealing concerns about the government collapse as early as July.
The Reuters report revealed details of the transcript of the July 23 conversation, where Biden urged Ghani to show the world they were competing militarily with the Taliban.
“There is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture,” he said to Ghani, urging him to try to change the narrative.

Monoclonal antibody treatments for patients with Covid 19

Quin Hillyer reports,
the ability of viruses to mutate means that as greater numbers of people contract the coronavirus, the chances grow for a mutation that is not blocked by current vaccines. As it is, the vaccines that are about 95% effective at blocking the transmission of earlier variants are only 66% effective at blocking the delta variant (although, again, current vaccines do lessen the severity among the other 34%).
This is why officials should put as much energy into making treatments available as they did in making vaccines readily accessible.
if treatments can make coronavirus cases milder and of shorter duration, then a number of benefits accrue.
Milder cases mean fewer hospitalizations, opening up hospital beds for others. Milder cases make it less likely for deleterious long-term effects to take root in affected individuals. Cases of shorter duration mean the opportunities for infecting others are lessened. Fewer transmissions mean fewer chances for mutations, including possible vaccine-resistant mutations. And, of course, fewer deaths.
Fortunately, we already know not just of one treatment, remdesivir , that can be effective in improving a semi-significant number of patients, but of another, called monoclonal antibodies, that by almost universal medical agreement can reduce the chances of hospitalization and death from COVID-19. They tend to have very few serious side effects. Anti-mandate conservatives such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky tout the antibodies , as does the medical establishment led by the ubiquitous Dr. Anthony Fauci. The Food and Drug Administration has authorized their use during the pandemic, and the Biden administration wisely has “encouraged ” more widespread use while dedicating some $150 million to greater “access” to such treatments in “underserved communities .”
Just shy of 175 million Americans are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 39.5 million people have contracted the disease, but fewer than 700,000 have received monoclonal antibody treatment, even though it is easy to administer.

"The consequences of this disaster are enormous!"

Ryan Saavedra reports,
130 Retired Generals, Admirals Demand Resignations From Milley, Austin Over Afghanistan Disaster
The Flag Officers said that Milley and Austin should have strongly pushed back on Biden’s plans and, if Biden refused to heed their warnings about what would happen, they should have immediately resigned and made a public statement about the matter. The letter continued:
The consequences of this disaster are enormous and will reverberate for decades beginning with the safety of Americans and Afghans who are unable to move safely to evacuation points; therefore, being de facto hostages of the Taliban at this time. The death and torture of Afghans has already begun and will result in a human tragedy of major proportions. The loss of billions of dollars in advanced military equipment and supplies falling into the hands of our enemies is catastrophic. The damage to the reputation of the United States is indescribable. We are now seen, and will be seen for many years, as an unreliable partner in any multinational agreement or operation. Trust in the United States is irreparably damaged.
Moreover, now our adversaries are emboldened to move against America due to the weakness displayed in Afghanistan. China benefits the most followed by Russia, Pakistan, Iran, North Korea and others. Terrorists around the world are emboldened and able to pass freely into our country through our open border with Mexico.
Besides these military operational reasons for resignations, there are leadership, training, and morale reasons for resignations. In interviews, congressional testimony, and public statements it has become clear that top leaders in our military are placing mandatory emphasis on PC “wokeness” related training which is extremely divisive and harmful to unit cohesion, readiness, and war fighting capability. Our military exists to fight and win our Nation’s wars and that must be the sole focus of our top military leaders.

‘Woke’ San Francisco to Pay Criminals $300 a Month Not to Shoot People!

Jack Murphy reports,
The new effort will choose ten people prone to pulling the trigger to be rewarded $300 each month to keep away from gun violence.
Participants will be matched with life coaches from the city's Street Violence Intervention Program
The new effort is being funded by the Dream Keeper Initiative and part of San Francisco’s decision to “redirect funding from the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) to the African American community.”
This will cost $6 million annually to intake needs of the community and focus on closing unemployment and gaps in “income and wealth,” the website says.
Those participants can also receive an extra $200 per month by attending school or helping to be change agents.
By mid-2021, San Francisco saw gun violence soar, with the number of non-fatal shooting victims rising to 129, doubling the 58 shootings from a year before, SFPD statistics reported.

"Australia and New Zealand are testing the parameters of merging the objectives of the control state with technology and citizen compliance."

Sundance reports,
People wonder why they should be paying attention to what happens in Australia. Well, quite simply, if you can identify where the test facility is for technology to merge with totalitarian objectives, it becomes valuable to follow what they do – and then predict what the future might look like for you. Australia and New Zealand are testing the parameters of merging the objectives of the control state with technology and citizen compliance.
A year ago the leftists in U.S. media were cheering the COVID responsibility of Kiwis and Aussies. However, things are starting to take a very dark turn now. Even the ultra-far-left Atlantic Magazine is starting to become aware, and what they are seeing is becoming worrisome.
The South Australian directorate is merely following the path of what already exists in Western Australia and Tasmania. The state government is monitoring COVID compliance via cell phones, geolocation and random inquires to check the status of citizen compliance.

On bringing tens of thousands of Afghan refugees into the United States

Dr. Stepen Kirby writes in FrontPage Magazine,
Those on the side of bringing tens of thousands of Afghan refugees into the United States have been able to rely on noble sounding rhetoric and emotional arguments to confront those who are not as enthusiastic about that venture.
However, the facts presented in this article show that in reality these refugees are coming from a culture and a land whose values and history are completely different from, and largely incompatible with, those of the United States.

Has a Biden-fueled terrorism surge already begun?

The editorial board of Issues and Insights reports,
Acold-blooded murder in a city northeast of Dallas over the weekend hasn’t exactly made national news – yet. But it could be the first in a new wave of terrorist attacks spawned by President Joe Biden’s disastrous retreat from Afghanistan.
On Sunday, the day before the last U.S. military plane departed the Kabul airport, a gunman shot and killed a Lyft driver in Garland, then drove the car over to a nearby police station and started shooting at the people inside. The alleged gunman, later identified as Imran Ali Rasheed, died after police gunned him down.
The Heritage Foundation’s national security expert James Carafano explains that, while Biden is busy casting his political opponents as dangerous terrorists, “the Taliban’s roughing-up of Biden will be a clarion call for transnational terrorism worldwide to get back in the game and go after the West. Small wonder that our European allies are outraged.”
As we pointed out in this space on Monday, that clarion call is exactly what happened when President Barack Obama’s inept dealings in the Middle East – which included a withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq – helped spawn ISIS. It then swiftly (and, for Obama at least, unexpectedly) seized huge swaths of land in Syria and Iraq, and went on a murderous rampage.

Questions that the Pentagon needs to answer

Victor Davis Hanson writes,
can it (the Pentagon) just explain why the Bagram Air Base was abandoned by night? Why suddenly are the terrorist Taliban our supposed “partners” in organizing our surrender and escape?
Which general allowed over $85 billion in American weapons to fall to the Taliban—a sum equal to the price of seven new U.S. aircraft carriers?
Who turned over to the Taliban the lists of Americans and allied Afghans to be evacuated?
Who left behind 7,000 biometric scanners that the Taliban are now using to hunt down our former Afghan friends?

The DOD refused to grant permission to fire on that bomber who killed 13 members of the US armed services!

Libby Emmons reports,
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roger Pardo-Maurer spoke about the suicide bombing at the Kabul International Airport on Thursday, saying that the "Department of Defense already knew who the bomber was."
Director of MRC Latino, Jorge Bonilla posted the interview with Pardo-Maurer said the Department of Defense also knew "where and when" the attack would happen. He said that "a Predator drone had a lock on him," and that the DOD "refused to grant permission to fire upon that bomber."

Abandoned U.S. military dogs in Kabul

Victory?

Democrats seem strangely content and self confident. They are pushing mail-in ballots, which allow people to vote without showing any form of I.D. Thousands of unvetted Afghans are flooding into America. Hundreds of thousands of unvetted people are coming into America across our southern border every month.

Hillary Clinton's "dangerous, angry behavior"

His book: Crisis of Character.

Who benefits?

Dennis Prager writes,
If some policy benefits your country most, you should, within moral bounds, pursue it.
If your enemies benefit most, you should avoid it.
Who benefits? China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, every Islamic terror group in the world and every other anti-American regime and movement.
Ben Shapiro notes, "China's Global Times, a Communist Party mouthpiece, chortled, 'From what happened in Afghanistan, those in Taiwan should perceive that once a war breaks out in the Straits, the island's defense will collapse in hours and U.S. military won't come to help. As a result (Taiwan) will quickly surrender.'
It seems that every generation has to relearn the basic laws of life, such as this one: There are many bad people and many bad countries in the world, and only a fear of good countries prevents them from conquering other countries.
There is less fear of good countries in the world today than at any time since World War II. And that is especially so because the good countries are preoccupied with their own alleged evils rather than with the world's real evils.

Biden's two initial and bad decisions regarding our withdrawal from Afghanistan

The New Neo writes,
Our withdrawal from Afghanistan is riddled with bad decisions. Whether they were intentionally bad and designed to harm the US I do not know, but in this post I’ll assume for the sake of argument that that was not the case and that they were simply very very bad decisions. Once that assumption is made, it seems to me that all of those bad decisions flowed from two initial and basic bad decisions, both set by Joe Biden (and/or some of his aides) and adhered to with great stubbornness and a total lack of flexible response to changing conditions.
The first terrible decision was to set a rigid date for withdrawal no matter what happened – a date chosen not for strategic reasons but for Biden’s idea of good PR. The Taliban insisted on the date as well after Biden had announced it. Since they realized that Biden was 100% committed to a total withdrawal on that date, he had no leverage with them to exercise even if he was capable of and willing to exercise it.
The second terrible decision by Biden was that he refused to order enough troops to manage the evacuation safely or smoothly. I’m no fan of the generals here, but he was asking them to do impossible things and as a result they had to make some choices that were going to be difficult.

"Who issued the stand down order to the Predator drone operator that had a lock on the Kabul bomber?"

Nick Arama reports,
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roger Pardo-Maurer dropped some incredible information during an interview and it’s huge, if true.
Director of MRC Latino, Jorge Bonilla, posted an interview with Pardo-Maurer. Pardo-Maurer, who was in the State Department for years, since at least 2001, said he was being told that the Department of Defense already knew who the bomber was ahead of time, before the bombing and when the Kabul attack would occur.
But Pardo-Maurer went further in his interview. He said not only did they know where and when it would happen, but that they had a Predator drone lock on the bomber, but that “they” refused to grant permission to take the guy out. “[Permission] was requested and was denied,” he said. Why? “Because we are in this process of negotiating with the Taliban who aren’t even in control of their own government or their own people.”

Be careful, Joe. Making phone calls to foreign leaders can get you impeached!

Remember when President Trump was impeached over a phone call he made to the leader of Ukraine? Mission Accomplished!

His negligence is their negligence as well!

Salena Zito writes,
In the days since Kabul fell, we have learned through reporting that the U.S. has depended on the Taliban for security screening outside the airport since mid-August, purposely choosing to rely on foes that killed Americans for decades to screen jihadists determined to kill Americans.
We have also learned through reporting by Politico that U.S. officials gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders, and Afghan allies to grant entry into the outer perimeter of the Kabul airport — giving their information to the very entity that has viciously murdered any Afghan who has joined up with the U.S. and other coalition forces during the 20-year war.
And those hundreds of students, their relatives, and staff of the American University of Afghanistan who had boarded buses on Sunday to evacuate on U.S. military flights were told after seven hours of sitting on the bus that all evacuations were permanently called off; the New York Times reported that because of Biden’s mandatory deadline, the military will now only be bringing its own personnel home. But a list of their names and their passport information has been shared by the U.S. military with the Taliban fighters guarding the airport checkpoints.
Biden’s negligence on Afghanistan is not a singular event but a pattern of behavior. He has been negligent in his dismissal of the crisis at the border. The dramatic surge in illegal U.S. southern border crossings — last month alone there were nearly 200,000 — is a humanitarian crisis that has endangered lives and communities, increased human and drug trafficking 100-fold, and turned the lives of people who live along the border upside down.
Incompetence denotes that Biden has no idea what he is doing. And yes, he certainly seems unsteady in numerous settings. But he has shown stubborn purpose in making the withdrawal from Afghanistan, whatever the circumstances. He has been equally purposeful in showing no responsibility for conditions at the border. That is negligence.
Biden’s fragility as the leader of our country is illustrated by the frequency of his negligence and the ease with which he and his administration and military leaders have been dismissing it.
They have willfully overlooked his flaws, or they have pardoned him without criticism. That's why history will show that his negligence is their negligence as well. If the media do not hold him accountable, they also share that burden.
