Will the media pretend it didn't happen?

This morning Ace of Spades has a post about a journalist living in Paris. He has been kidnapped by Iran and brought to Iran for punishment. He has been writing anti-regime articles for years. Ace writes,
This is a major test for the media, though I'm not sure it's a "test," as I know the media will fail.

The media is currently in its second or third week of Virtue Signalling over the assassination of Jamil Kashoggi by Saudi Arabia.

But the media is aligned with Iran because Obama was aligned with Iran.

Attacking Saudi Arabia over Kashoggi is in the media's political interests, in as much as attacking Saudi Arabia benefits their chief enemy, Iran. And the media is aligned with Iran.

But now that Iran has abducted a journalist from Paris -- where his journalism was completely legal -- and imprisoned him, likely in order to be executed -- will the media make any kind of noise? Will we see dozens of op-eds decrying the savagery of the Iranian regime, as they did in the case of Saudi Arabia?

Or will they take a knee?

Bear in mind, the man will almost certainly be executed within days or weeks, so it is critical that the media make a very big noise right fucking now if there is to be any chance that this man lives.

What's your bet?

My bet is that they pretend this didn't happen.

Because they're monsters and cowards and furthermore in the employ -- either de facto or in earnest -- of hostile foreign interests.
