Good morning kids. The middle of the week is upon us and the top story for today will be President Trump's announcement later today that he intends on starting the process of moving our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, thus officially recognizing that city as Israel's capital. I will not go into the religious and historic significance of Jerusalem to Judaism, but suffice it to say that the city itself has been a pillar of Jewish identity since time immemorial. From a political standpoint, I will only paraphrase a rather salient comment made by Nevergiveup; since the city is more or less divided between Israel and the Palestinian authority, at least half of that city is (ingenuously or not) regarded as Israeli territory, so moving our embassy there should cause zero controversy. But as we all know, since the goal of both adherents to Islam and its evil twin Leftism is to wipe Israel off the map, this cannot stand. Before Israel liberated the city in the 1967 Six Day War, Jews were forbidden from entering and holy sites including the graves of ancient Jewish forefathers were desecrated - a pattern that still exists throughout the Muslim world today and is gradually taking hold in Europe. It should be noted that since 1967, Muslim and Christian holy sites in the city have been preserved and protected by Israel and, as mentioned, Palestinians use their neighborhoods within the city as well as the West Bank as a base from which to kill Israeli citizens and oppress their own people. But that is par for the course. If the Muslim world and their slaves/pawns/cannon fodder in the Palestinian movement really wanted peace with Israel, there would be no reaction from their side at all. As a note to Jared Kushner and others in the "peace process" scam, the only two state solution the Palestinians and the Left are interested in is one Palestinian State in place of Israel, and a "final solution" to the Jews.
In short, bravo Mr. President. You have done the right thing, kept a promise and at the same time given a proverbial boot to the groin of Joo-haters of all stripes the world over (Obama *cough* Obama). In related news, the House also passed a resolution cutting off funding to the Palestinian Authority for continuing to financially support and praise terrorists and terrorist attacks from the areas they control. Hope it sails through the Senate just as swiftly so the President can sign it into law. It would be the perfect underscore to moving our embassy.
Do you know about the Jerusalem Embassy Act? Here is Wikipedia:
The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995[1] is a public law of the United States passed by the 104th Congress on October 23, 1995. It was passed for the purposes of initiating and funding the relocation of the Embassy of the United States in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, no later than May 31, 1999, and attempted to withhold 50 percent of the funds appropriated to the State Department specifically for "Acquisition and Maintenance of Buildings Abroad" as allocated in fiscal year 1999 until the United States Embassy in Jerusalem had officially opened.[2] The act also called for Jerusalem to remain an undivided city and for it to be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel. Israel's declared capital is Jerusalem, but this is not internationally recognized, pending final status talks in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The United States has withheld recognition of the city as Israel's capital. The proposed law was adopted by the Senate (93–5),[3] and the House (374–37).[4]Read more here.
