It isn't just big government that practices devious deceit

Gerard Baker, Editor-in-chief of the Wall Street Journal, reports that
An internal Veterans Affairs audit released Monday found some 60,000 veterans are waiting to get appointments for health care. In addition, 70% of VA facilities that auditors visited had used an alternative to official appointment schedules to make wait times appear much shorter.

These tricks played by low level bureaucrats are not limited to big government agencies. Low level managers at big box stores urge employees to to do similar devious things to hide problems from top level managers. Don't ask me how I know.

The difference is that in the V.A. these tricks result in deaths.
