Flush it

Was there a football game yesterday? You would never know it by looking at today's Denver Post. Nothing on page one, two, three. There, finally, on page 15A is a brief editorial. The Post's editors admit feeling utter dejection. They even admit that football is our secular religion with its own holiday, the Superbowl.

Will the fans wear orange and blue today? Not as many. People will discover they have other items in their closets that they have not worn all winter.

Coverage must be on the Sports pages, right? Nope, not there. finally, at the very back, there is the Superbowl edition. Sportswriter Mark Kizla predicts that the sun will be embarrassed to show its face in Colorado today.

Wrong! It is another beautiful morning with bright sun and baby blue sky. The football gods do not have anything to do with Colorado's gorgeous weather.
