Here Comes the Snow!

I took this picture of the front range of the Rockies at the same spot as I took the photo of last night's sunset. Lo and behold, the mountains are suddenly covered with a blanket of snow. Six to twelve more inches are expected in the mountains tonight, and we are going to get dusted, too. The Snowbirds will soon be arriving in Florida and Alabama!

what a beautiful blue contrast the sky is with the dessert (at least it looks like dessert)

Beautiful views are everywhere around here.

cynthia,
That is such a kind thing for you to say. I really do love photography. It keeps me alert to notice the beauty around me.

This brings back fabulous memories of four beautiful years spent with college friends and visiting family in Denver and the Rockies.

Your snow report has sadly decided the route from Austin to Seattle that GF and I will take when we leave on Thursday.

I'll be posting photos of desert for a while.

You do live in a beautiful part of the country. Nothing like it down here!

mizz e,
I am sorry I caused you to alter your route. You know what they say, "if you don't like the weather today in Colorado, just wait until tomorrow!" At this time of the year, the snow is not likely to stick more than a day or two. Throw a pair of cheap snow tires in your trunk, and come on up!

mrs. who,
The kids love it, especially Linebacker Dude, who threw a big tantrum when I told him he had to take off his boots when he came inside. We found 49 gloves, almost none of them a match!
