First graders in one California school are being sent to the principal for "misgendering" their classmates. A first-grade girl said hello to a boy, using his name, was chastised on the playgound for doing so, and then later pulled out of class and sent to the principal's office because she did not use the correct pronoun of the new name he was now using. She had not seen him since last year in kindergarten, so she walked up and said hello to him.
