More people self-identifying as "liberal?"
The Wall Street Journal publishes a graph from a poll taken by WSJ/NBC News indicating that over the last year the number of Americans calling themselves "liberal" has increased, while the number of people calling themselves "conservative" decreased, and moderates increased.

by making the graph only include a small percentage, the "real" change, i.e. 3% more liberals, is made to seem larger, as is the small decrease in conservatives.
Since 2-4% error rate is found in polls, the change may be meaningless.
