This is a very scary time to be a Muslim in America:
The NYPD says it is investigating as a hate crime an assault on a Muslim shop owner in Astoria, Queens.
In California, a female corrections officer threw coffee and an umbrella at a group of Muslims praying in a park. One of the victims posted a video of Denise Slader berating them on Facebook. Watch it here.
Muslim parents say they are urging their children to be cautious in public. Several Washington area Muslims told The Post’s Pam Constable that they feel “a new, uncomfortable chill when interacting with non-Muslims in public.” There are also unexpected displays of support.
Thousands of Muslims who have courageously served our country in uniform are struggling to come to grips with the hate that they’re now experiencing stateside: “There are roughly 5,900 U.S. service members who self-identify as Muslims,” Thomas Gibbons-Neff reports. “Now they are finding a climate that is significantly worse than anything they experienced after the Sept. 11th, 2001, attacks. ‘The rhetoric is definitely different, it’s very alarming,’ said Cpl. Ibrahim Hashi, a Marine who left the service in 2011 and now attends American University in D.C. ‘And I’m concerned for myself and my family’s safety.'”
This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

Is this a scary time to be Muslim in America?
