How did all the “big box” national chain retail operations remain open the entire time since “2 weeks to flatten the curve” in March 2020? Walmart, Target, Costco, Sams Club, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc etc .
Who forced them to shut down? No one, and they didn’t. Yet their independently-owned and smaller local competitors were forced to shut down and ultimately many small stores went bankrupt. How convenient.
Seems the government did precisely what benefitted the multinational corporation-owned stores and harmed the independently owned local shops and local multi-outlet companies. That wasn’t a coincidence.
