...Most horrendous of all, while President Trump is both figuratively and quite literally holding back the barbarians at the gates, the foul words of General James Mattis, dripping with venom, jealousy and spite yet lacking in anything even remotely resembling truth, were used like a rusty switchblade from under the soiled pillow of a $2.00 whore and thrust into his back. I have never served in the military, although I have had relatives who fought and died for this country, and at the risk of overstepping my bounds, from my perspective, Mattis is a disgrace to the uniform. With the nation on the verge of heading over a cliff, he's there to give it a hearty shove. I do not care about his military record; to see him wearing the same uniform as men who faced hell on earth at Pelelieu and Iwo Jima is beyond hateful. He is despicable and dare I say it, given the situation, a traitor.Go here to read more and click on his links.
The President, like all of us desperately clinging to and trying to preserve the last vestiges of sanity and our nation, stands alone. The people and institutions that he thought he could trust to stand with him in times of peril are now clearly part and parcel of the peril he is facing.
Turning what was a moronic phrase a few short weeks ago into something that now has real meaning, he and we are alone in this together. G-d I feel low.
This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.
