900 protests of the firing of Jeff Sessions! Really?

I would not have expected this: large protests are happening in New York City right now over the firing of Jeff Sessions! I didn't know Jeff had so many friends on the left. Here is the scene in Times Square, courtesy of the Guardian, a Left-wing rag in the UK, which says there have been 900 protests nationwide! I find that number hard to believe.
