"A textbook act of treason"

At Bookworm Room, Wolf Howling reports on the news that Obama has commuted the sentence of Bradley Manning.

...what Manning did was a textbook act of treason. The charges for which he was tried included execution as a potential penalty. Manning exposed intelligence methods and individuals supporting us in Afghanistan. In the aftermath of his leaks, the Taliban went on a run of massacres targeting those identified and the many described in the leaks.
