Does the blooming never stop?

I started to get bummed out about the fact that many plants, including produce, have been hit by freezing temperatures at night up here in the high altitude mountains outside of Santa Fe. No more sunflowers, for example. Then I noticed that the high desert cactus are starting to bloom!

I went a little further, and saw these purple flowers just now coming in to bloom. Does it ever stop?
