This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

He ropes for a living
Last Sunday my son Jon and I went to the Elizabeth, Colorado Stampede. We saw some mighty good ropin' and ridin'. When I saw this story today at The Guardian, I especially appreciated it. It seems the guy who is clinging to a tree had stolen a woman's bike from the bike rack at the Walmart in Eagle Point, Oregon. A rancher who was new to town was parked in the Walmart parking lot with his horse trailer. As the bandit fled on the woman's bike, the cowboy let one of his horses out of the trailer, and galloped after the thief. Just like the cowboys at the Elizabeth Stampede, the Oregon cowboy lassoed the thief around his ankles and waited for the police to come.
