Philadelphia police ambusher acted “in the name of Islam”
Fox News reports that
The man suspected of ambushing a Philadelphia police officer in his patrol car used a stolen police firearm and acted “in the name of Islam,” authorities said this afternoon.
Police Commissioner Richard Ross said at a news conference that the suspect has confessed to last night's shooting of Officer Jesse Hartnett, who remains in recovery at hospital.
The suspect, a 30-year-old man from Philadelphia, “believed that the police defend laws that are contrary to the teachings of the Quran,” said Ross.
