Whenever a Republican politician says he opposes an Obama policy, no one believes him. They all believe they are no different than the Democrats.
On illegal immigration, for example, every other Republican candidate says exactly the same thing. "First, we need to secure the border. Then, we need to figure out a way to deal with the millions who are here already." Not only is it vague and meaningless, it is exactly how Barack Obama or any other Democrat would describe "Comprehensive Immigration Reform." There is not only no rhetorical difference in each party's illegal immigration position, there is no practical, operational difference either.
This creates a vacuum where Trump was easily able to step in. Instead of vague platitudes, he offers what sound like concrete actions. "Build a wall and deport the rapists." It's crude, but it sounds like a real plan, not an empty promise that no one believes any more.
The Republican Party's fails created a vacuum that Trump is only too happy to fill.
This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

A vacuum that Trump is only too happy to fill
