CVS Caremark to stop selling tobacco

CVS Caremark has decided to stop selling tobacco. Although they make $2.2 billion in sales every year from selling tobacco, they decided that it didn't go very well with their role as health care providers. CVS Caremark employs 26,000 pharmacists and nurse practitioners.

This story is reported by BBC News, which also states,
Cigarette smoking kills more than 480,000 Americans aged 35 years and older every year, according to a report this year by the US surgeon general.

Tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of death in the US, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

They are not in a huge hurry, though. They said they will have the products off the shelves by October 1. Really? You have that much product on your shelves in the back room?
